Call me crazy but I think this was a extremely smart move by Nintendo. As we know, no software lineup can outmatch a hardware unveiling. That was the case last year as Wii U showed off and MS and Sony looked like stupid kids in a corner.... and now it is Nintendo's turn to look stupid but they did it in style. They knew that none of their major games would be complete enough to show off. They only set the new Mario, Pokemon, and Pikmin to combat this year and with pokemon alone they will not only dominate the handheld market(again) but will probably yield the most profit. It doesn't matter how many consoles you sell, what matters is how much profit you'll make.
With Sony making its console 50$ more than the Wii U Deluxe set it will take a heck of a blow on profit. If you are making your console more expensive then it means manufacturing costs are high.
Back to my point, it was a smart move. Everybody else showed what they had. Nintendo, I believe, will show a lot more next year. They barely showed off MK, Smash Bros., DK, and next year they'll probably have footage of the new Zelda, Smash, and I'm sure Miyamoto was working on a new IP. But really how many games do you want? Just guess how many games shown at SY+MS will break the 5m mark or even the 1m mark? Every game that Nintendo showed will break at least 5m except for Wind Waker HD. So I don't care if Nintendo doesn't have all these third party games, I wasn't going to buy them anyway except for Kingdom Hearts III. I just care if they succeed. No, Gamecube wasn't the best console ever but it housed games that you shouldn't have missed. RE4 and SSBM to name a couple. So yes, Nintendo may seem lacking but it takes time to transition to HD for your first time and innovate at the same time. Give Nintendo time. In the meantime get Pokemon or Mario 3D World and wait for 2014.
I thought the games looked good. Smash bros was pretty exciting and the X trailer blew be away as well as bayonetta 2. Dont set your expectations too high and you'll never be disappointed.

A Pokemon 3DS bundle of some kind most likely will be coming for the holidays. I mean they had those for DS versions.
OT: Pretty happy with the Wii U software. Only slightly disappointing thing was MK8 coming next year but spring is not too far but we do have to go through another long winter.

I'm sure NoA will bring over bundles for the Holiday Season. Pokemon X/Y Bundle would be a no-brainer.

this is where nintendo fucked up real bad. Wasted their head start. Next year is already confirmed to be amazing. Just need to survive 6-12 months of wii u hate until then

Nintendo has several games coming out this year. Pikmin 3, New Super Luigi U, Wii Play U, Wii Fit U, Super Mario 3D World, The Wonderful 101, and more. Even if these games don't appeal to most "hardcore" gamers, the Wii U still should do good this year.
