Forums - Gaming Discussion - Sony: Online DRM "Up To Publishers"

It only says about online passes or codes in the article, which is what it is now. It's nothing compared to Xbox One

Xbox One, PS4 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018

So basically anything EA and Activision makes

EA confirmed that they abandoned online pass and Activision never implemented it.

Huh. Well thats something, since these 2 were the most likely suspects

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

It's such a simple solution.
Stop supporting companies or games that support DRM. With such an easy solution how has this ever become a problem??

Just as I expected, just like on PC:
The publishers are free to decide for themselves - if a certain publisher seriously want to piss his customers off, he can, but nobody forced him to.

Probably speaking in regards to online passes, which i'm totally fine with. The system isn't designed any differently then the PS3 is, so there's no inherent reason to start freaking out.

I wonder what sony would do with their own games since they were implementing online passes on the PS3

Thanks Blacksaber for the sig                  Tag:"Nintendo es toda la diversión de esta generación"

i wonder if sony will still have an online pass after their conference yesterday. since next gen will be almost all about online that would be already 10 bucks per used games sony would ask for.

Not quite the same and no different than current standard.

There is no forced online check.

The difference would be if EA wants to force a key system on their titles. But they could do that now with PS3, WiiU, etc.

This solution is still 1000x better than Xbone as its not an obligation on everyone. Its up to the publisher and then we as the consumer can choose to not accept it on a per game basis.

Wait, now I am confused. Sony ps4 WILL have DRM for third party titles still?
