Hate to say it but you aren't paying to play online anymore. Have you seen what they are doing with the video sharing and such? The up keep of the online portion has drastically increased for sony. I'll probably skip paying because I never game online

As long as you have plus for one account, you will be able to play multiplayer on all the accounts.

wait and see how the PS+ thing works, maybe they will announce an account sharing like MS? (there really is no use in two PS+ subscriptions), also i dont think sony stated that your account is tied to your hardware, meaning you can probably use it on more than one PS4.

my advice, just wait for clarification.

That's not entirely good either. Think of how arrogant Sony become after PS2's success. The first two-three years of PS3 almost killed them; they could recover and become competent and likeable again. There should be a balance, always, for the sake of everyone.

The PS+ requirement for online multiplayer sucks! I agree. I want them to change back and make it optional. Not sure what I will do in 2015 when my plus runs out.

The bright side, PS4 is a way better option than X1 for a variety of reasons.

1. For your dilemma, I read that you can share a PS+ account on PS4, unlocking online multiplayer for more just one account on your PS4. That means, you and your brother don't both need a PS+ account to play online apparently. Together on seperate consoles, probably, but co-op and taking turns will allow you to use your corresponding PSN accounts.

2. PS+ also has a lot of additional value. Free games, cloud saves, big discounts on the PS Store, and whatever else they plan on adding. They will probably incorporate an Instant Game Collection down the road, and if you get a Vita or PS3 you will get those games too, you can even "purchase" the free games on the PS Store without owning the consoles so when you do you could have a nice collection of titles built up.

3. If you decide not to get PS+ with the PS4 and forgo online multiplayer, you will still be able to access things like Netflix. Online multiplayer is the only pay wall.

4. PS+ is cheaper than XBL, only $50 a year.

I'm going to still flood Social Networks to try and convince them to keep PS+ optional for online multiplayer, have them rely on convincing people to subscribe.
