Forums - Sales Discussion - Prediction: PS4 will outsell XBoxOne 2-to-1 in the US and 3-to-1 globally this year.

Cant see that happening in the US.

Can see 3-1 in Europe though.

We will have to see. The strength of the Xbox brand in the US is still very strong, especially with the 360 still dominating over there. That said, it's not impossible. Both MS and Sony played all their card tonight, and Sony certainly came out far ahead.

MS played most of their cards. they announced 13 exclusives from their 15, titan fall probably isnt one of the 15 they talked about though. sony announced first party 20 exclusives to come in the first year, 30 in development. they have knack, drive club, KZ, infamous and the order announced. meaning they have shit load of games still unannounced. sony has a lot more cards to play. the only reason people are saying they "won" is bacuase the price and no DRM

they didn't need to show any games.  People were actually chanting Sony after that used games announcement.  I've never heard that at E3.  I mean this was just absolute annihilation.  They seriously could've had a 1 minute conference for that and the price and left and they would have won.  Everything else was just gravy.

I agree.   Also Sony has not announce everything since there is Gamescon and Tokyo Game Show.

I think in the US it will be a really tough fight between the two (considering most people wont know about the DRM); but everywhere else Sony is going to kill it.

Hmmm not sure about that. If Sony can even match Xbox sales in the states it would be a huge victory. Their global numbers will crush Xbox, but sales in the US will still favor Microsoft.

I really do not think one gen of dominating in the US means it has to continue in the Us. Just look at Nintendo's rise and Sony's fall from last gen here. The industry leaders can change rapidly and I think it is short sighted and a simple easy guess to say MS forever controls the Us market.

You bring up a good point. I honestly don't know what will happen in the US with PS4 vs Xbone, but based on the huge advantage Xbone had this last gen if Sony were to Tie Microsft in sales in the US they would consider it a huge victory.

It would me an achievement, and I believe it could be very likely. Parents always look for the better deal when buying and it has always been believed the PS3s higher price point held it back the entire gen. I really do not see many people spending an extra $100 for Halo and kinect.

$100 is $100. The average American consumer at Walmart or Target is not going to pay an extra $100 for brand loyalty.

Yeah media is on MS's side but social networks will make this tough to cover up.  I mean there's trying to stay neutral and then there's just being in denial.  US should be tough but that pricepoint is going to make MS's going a lot tougher.

The One will still sell more in the U.S thx to crazy M$ marketing. M$ is probably gonna price drop soon anyways depending on the reception. Judging by the launch sellout though, they'll be fine for now.

Nope even I admit it, Microsoft is fucked unless they change something now. I'm a huge MS fan and I'm canceling my preorder.

Apple sell iPhones for US$200 more than its direct competitors... and still outsell anyother smartphone.

So, why Microsoft can´t push its platform ahead of Sony´s?

I agree, that was my very thought when Microsoft announced a $499 price point. It just seemed a little much for the casual crowd.

I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post. Well, I thought nothing of that because when you've lived in a town as long as I've lived in this one, you get used to the fact that everybody knows your name.
