Well the new version at least according to the "screenshots" is crippled by bloom and has fucked up colors.  Blue is turquoise etc....

Also the contrast is shit on WiiU  but well its a work in progess that was not what the game looked like because there was actually no game at the time.

Lets just hope it has the colorscheme of the original just with better lighting and textures and widescreen and etc....

TO ME those turqoise screens look better!

Given that it's a cel-shading game, the old version getting upscaled like it does on the Dolphin emu will still look excellent.
Now if it looks better than the upcoming HD remake is highly debatable.

Have you seen it running on highest settings in full HD?

It's incredibly beautiful. I don't think it's very debatable. Check a 1080p youtube vid and get back to me!

Seen and played it that way, yeah.

@JazzB1987

I don't mind the blue or the bloom, but the grass is too yellowish. Still nothing that couldn't be fixed in a minute if Nintendo listens to their fans.

Wind Waker was also incredibly beautiful. I don't see why more is needed really. Nintendo should spend those resources on the new Zelda.

EXACTLY!

Actually, I have no problem with them doing a remake. That's all fine and well. BUT WHY NOW!? AND WHERE are the other games!? Are they really coming? I've lost a little faith in Nintendo's ability to have a regular output of stellar games. And with HD new to them, they might just struggle even more.

Still, LOVE this game.

And you honestly think the Wii U version might look better?

(serious question btw)

@OP: I'm inclined to agree with you.

I love Wind Waker, I really do. I enjoyed every minute of it and I've been a fierce defender of it since it launched.

But I really hope we get something new, not just improved graphics. I want an excuse to play this game again, with so many other games on my backlog.

I love the new style for Wind Waker, I hope they don't let the very people who didn't want WW back then dictate the new style.

But that looks absolutely amazing!

I've heard that this is a really great remake. They've added things, so you might wanna pick it up even though you've played it already.

What have they added?

I'll probably pick it up anyway :) despite this thread

I actually don't know, but as far as I understood it we should be able to see that when playing the e3 demo...

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Well, this seems like a little bit of an pointless thread sadly. How has Nintendos output been less than stellar? And I don't like playing through Dolphin out of principle, I'm sure many feel the same.

We will see the game tomorrow. Why not wait until then before judging?

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Certainly. It's a full remake after all and not just a remaster.
The Dolphin "version" is basically the remaster that has better framerate and higher resolution but nothing of the other improvements.
So it basically comes down to if you rather like a cleaner look or if you rather like new effects and models
