btw something i just thought about, how does my console know that 24 hours are over? is that something in the xbox system? isn't that super easy to hack so that the "counter" believes an year is an hour or something?

I'm pretty sure it's determined by the last time the system made a call to a MS server. Can't (easily) hack that.

yeah but if my console wouldn't be online it could also not call the server that 24 hours are over. so it is a internal clock in the console which will block the console for games after those 24 hours and i thought that internal clock should be easy to hack but probably not, they wouldn't have that then lol

Old School's the best school.

You should post this to the likes of Time, Wall Street Journal and Forbes. Im sure those haters will take what you say on board.

You missed a core feature of the console that Microsoft unveiled

You are allowed to invite friends/family to come to your house and play your games!

Re: your post its well written and I certainly do wish you enjoy your prospected console purchase for next-gen

But I'm afraid I won't be buying into it, I despise the idea your investment can become void in the future amongst other things

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

i would find it acceptable if they just cut the bs and didnt require online access every 24 hours

Is not to be a hater, i have been a Xbox fan since 2002, but seriously:

If i dont want to connect my xbox to the internet, its my problem, ms dosnt have to tell me what to do.
If i buy a game, i can annything i want with it.
That thing of the "10 family members can play my game whithout pay" its jut stupid, again, if i pay fot the Game, i should be able to let anyone i want to play it, been juts 10 or 100 people, it doesnt have to cost a cent.

We dont need to look for a solution for all those ideas, because all those stupid ideas shouldnt even exist. I think than my next gen console isnt going to the the one from MS.

  • The Xbox One requires a "check" to occur once every 24 hours, when gaming. Or once every 1 hour when gaming from a console that is not your own.

This is the dealbreaker for me, and I ain't no hater. I like to carry my 360 to my friends house (Because they all have Ps3) where I don't want to put up with the hassle of connecting my console to my friend's broadband because no. I can put my 360 with the HDMI cable and the other thing I don't know what its name is that puts the machine onto electricity and that's it.

It takes all of 5 seconds to turn your, or one of your friend's smartphones into a wifi hotspot that your Xbone can connect to. Now you're just nitpicking.

that is your explanation why you have a problem with xbox one? that you would have to connect to the internet at your friends house if you visit him more than 24 hours? (otherwise just connect at your home for 10 seconds before you visit him) and even when you could still use your mobile connection for that?

so, 30 seconds more "work" are the deal breaker for you?  i read a lot of concerns but that is really one i don't get. i mean, therefore you only have to take your consoel with you and not all the games. i would think 30 seoncds more work but therefore less to carry doesn't sound too bad.

Yes. I could have said "Well, what happens if Microsoft go out of bussiness and closes its severs? What do I do with my games when there's no check-in, then?" or "Remember, original Xbox games lasted 8 years. Then the servers went out, but the games were still playable. What's with the One, then?". But heck no. Why do I have to put up with 30 seconds more work is my concern, and I stand still.

If you don't like my concerns, I'm sorry then.

There's my answer.
