Also you can't trust most gaming journalists to expose these flaws in reviews, because many of them are famous for not doing their jobs properly.

I think TC can close this topic. It's been debunked.

pleases re watch the vids you posted and nsanitys vid

nsanitys vid and the op are about how ND altered or dumbed down the ai compared to E3 much like they did to UC3's graphics e3 vs release

both of your vids clearly show the AIs lack of fear compared to the E3 gameplay and unarmed AI not retreating when joel points a gun at them the other comparisons werent even tested

tlou for me was a step up from NDs UC series SP wise i liked how they took a mature approach compared to the UC games but the gameplay got repetitive after awhile. idk why they had such big areas to explore with nothing really in them i played my 1st playthrough on hard took 20hrs to beat but that playthrough consisted of me searching every inch of the map so i can get all the collectables i could, most of the time resulting in nothing being found. i also did encounter friendly AI getting in the way of my movements aswell as enemy AI having its dumb points i also didnt like how i was vulnerable during the same strangle animation which is one of the most used tactic in this game as ammo is low as well as having metal melee objects being breakable

overall i would give the game somewhere in the 8-9 range, havent touched the MP yet though, dont see 10/10 here if this is a 10/10 game then what is gtaSA re4 and the orignal MGS?

Just to make the things clear here.

Update:

Turns out the AI is confirmed to be either a bug exploit or of a lower difficulty setting.

New gameplay "Survivor" setting by metalmurphy: (Thanks!)

Turns out enemy has self-preservation at a higher difficulty setting. Video is a lot better when showcasing the AI but still lacks the intensity personally. The brick to the face still lack that "oomph" compared to the E3 demo.

The enemy AI isn't as great as what was shown but it comes pretty close. The partner AIs are the dumb fucks that pull you out of the experience. Tess and Ellie are face to face with a clicker (that they ran in front of but weren't heard even though I can hear them from 8 times the distance of the clicker) and Tess shouts, "Joel, help!" Some how the clicker didn't hear anything again but had no issue hearing the brick I threw few yards away from them.

Bill will run around upright amid a field of clickers no problem, including right into one, then pull of some football shake maneuver to not touch them and get spotted. However, if I just push my analog stick just a bit too far while crouched a clicker can hear me and will attack even though he was 5 feet away.

The enemy could look straight at a standing Ellie in a well lit room. Straight at her. Why is she standing and with no cover? I don't know, she's a moron or something. Or perhaps she realizes that they don't care if they see her. It's just me that has to be discrete. Even though the enemies explicitly state they're looking for two people, including a little girl.

Oh I'd heard that the AI was a joke so I see what you mean now.

Actually, the AI does beg for their lifes when you beat them to the ground. My brother was playing during the rooptop segment with henry and sam and after taking out one dude with his gun, he beat another guy with a melee weapon. Before finishing him off, my brother pointed the shotgun at the enemy's face and he actually coward and beg for his life "please man, don't kill me." Oddly enough, the enemy got back up after some time and said "you're gonna pay for that." then proceed to get his brains smashed.

I have also seen instances when enemy AI does react to a dead comrade. I've seen it a few times through out the game where they will see a dead body and inspect it, saying things like "holy shit" or "what's going on over here?" It happened maybe 4 or 5 times during my first run on Hard mode. I have also seen the enemy run and take cover from me when they scream out "he's got a gun!" or something of that sort. I have seen enemy with guns try to rush at me but not too often. It's funny cause it's mostly enemies with a pistol and not a shotgun who run at you.

The enemy AI also works together from time to time. I know during the ambush at the store segment, one grabbed me from behind while another was hitting me or about to hit me, but I broke out of it before I died.

I do agree the enemy AI is not as bright as I had anticipated but it is much better than in other action games like for example, uncharted.
