What I don't understand is this family sharing thing, does my entire family have to be using the same gamertag for it to work?

No. You have to give your family members permission in the parental controls. MS doesn't tell me what to do or how to play my game. If I buy a game and can hold it in my hand do not tell me where it can be used. As long as I dont replicate it and sell it STFU.

They're just over complicating everything.

Quick question to those who are reading this and actually want to discuss and not just bitch and moan...

What defines a family member? Did Microsoft specify what they define a family member and what is a friend?

I ask because you can apparently share the game once with a "friend" but 10 times with "family members".

Look, buddy. I can share my 360 games with "friends" and "family members" as long as I want, as much as I want. I don't have "limit caps" for sharing my games. Do you understand where I'm going?

Sealed the deal, already have a Wii U and will be picking up only the PS4. As a GameFly member and someone who borrows out and borrows games from friends and coworkers this isn't going to work for me, plus I refuse to pay for or purchase a console that requires me to check in with them when and where I play. I travel quite a bit and take my console of choice with me.

Nice knowing you MS. My dollars will go to Japan.

But what you are doing si hrtign the peopel who make teh games as tahst a potential lost in sales so techically you are doign more harm to gaming then MS is doing with tehir xbone. May i ask you why you don't buy teh games to play ??? hOW is once every 24 hour connection a bad thign. Who plays games for taht long straight. All you need to do to get it workign is to put a game in and you are in . How hard is that?

PS4 and Wii U here I come...fuck that shit...I have to ask a publisher permission to do what the fuck I want with a game that I just paid 60-70 bucks for? Yeah fuck you MS

Probably refers to how you define a device your Live account is attached to. So if you login to an Xbone and define it as permanent or a device you own, etc.

From the article:

Give your family access to your entire games library anytime, anywhere: Xbox One will enable new forms of access for families. Up to ten members of your family can log in and play from your shared games library on any Xbox One. Just like today, a family member can play your copy of Forza Motorsport at a friend’s house. Only now, they will see not just Forza, but all of your shared games.  You can always play your games, and any one of your family members can be playing from your shared library at a given time.

Am I the only one who thinks this actually sounds pretty damn good?

Anyone?

But lending it to people who won't spend a dime on gmaes which developers spent put their sweat and tears is a crime. They need to make a living just liek we do so each time a friend or anyone that borrows a game and finishes the sp campaign and then plays multiplayer for free hurts them. Just look how many good devleopers studio shut down because they didn't sell anough cOpies of teh game? . The used market and secondhand market in my opinion should be closed down for good a swe need to support gaming develoeprs if we wanat to game 50 years down the track. However i do beleive that if they go down this road ,, then shoould reduce teh price of the game a bit to make it more enticing to buy.

"With Xbox One you can game offline for up to 24 hours on your primary console, or one hour if you are logged on to a separate console accessing your library. Offline gaming is not possible after these prescribed times until you re-establish a connection, but you can still watch live TV and enjoy Blu-ray and DVD movies. "

Seriously, what in the fuck is this bullshit? How can they be so dense and how can we, as gamers, be complacent with this horseshit of a policy? I mean, I am fully aware that I live in an area where my internet connection is reliable at all times, but that is still a load of shit. And no rentals? You can only give out a game once? The family sharing plan is pretty cool but in no way makes up for the rest of this.

I'm sure the Xbox One will still sell well and others will follow suit, if they haven't already. Goddamn it Sony, don't do this. Please do not bring this out too.
