I wonder if used games can't be resold. If that one friend limit to giving/selling a game is the same at stores than you can't resell the used games you buy.

It'll depend on the publishers setup for that game.

What i want to know is how much we get for a used game sell and how much they will cost, because what the rumors say is that we get 1 or 2 dollars/euros for a sold game and the retailer gets a 5 euro cut and the rest is going to the publisher. I still think they are hiding pertinent information and i am 100% sure that this is a trap.
Want to lend games to your friends? No dice.
You can sell your new game once for an undisclosed ammount that is probably not gonna be worth it. If you buy a used game, you cant resell it, it virtually becomes trash.
Most important of all, publishers are beeing given the choice to apropriate themselves of revenue that isnt theirs by right. I call that theft.

At least your whole family doesnt have to buy the same game anymore.

Still, not buying this in a million years.

What I don't understand is this family sharing thing, does my entire family have to be using the same gamertag for it to work?

Just a nice person :)

Sealed the deal, already have a Wii U and will be picking up only the PS4. As a GameFly member and someone who borrows out and borrows games from friends and coworkers this isn't going to work for me, plus I refuse to pay for or purchase a console that requires me to check in with them when and where I play. I travel quite a bit and take my console of choice with me.

Nice knowing you MS. My dollars will go to Japan.

And indirectly, Steam is the reason for this shit.

I'm wondering about this every 24 hrs. thing. What happens if you are out of power for a couple of days due to a storm or something? I also can't imagine that this sharing games thing would allow for multiple people in different locations to all be able to play a game that just one of them buys. That would reduce sales by a ton. As far as being able to do it in one house, that's great because I always have to buy two of certain games (Halo, COD) to play with my kids so I'm liking that. I don't EVER do the used/ resell/borrowed thing so that means absolutely nothing to me. I understand that a lot of people do it that way and if Sony doesn't have something very similar then it seems liek MS is taking a gamble. We don't have long to now to find out for sure.

what do you mean with out of power? how do you want to use a console then? but it also works with mobile broadband so maybe that would help you?

Man I must be missing a lot here. I was thinking if your console was offline for more than 24 hrs., it's a problem. If I lost power in my area for a few days because of say, a blizzard, then I obviously wouldn't be online. I think I just need to read the whole wall of text.

If you are without power for longer than 24 hours and can't log back in, you can't play your games.

Anyways, this console isn't for me. For me I would need the ability to privately sell my disc based games. If not, then their games better be real cheap. No $50 and $60 games. I might be reluctant to buy @ $40. At that point it would really depend on what trade in values are at retailers.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

No you  are right. If power goes out for a couple of days, and you start up your Xbone after that(once you get power back), you need to log in online first to be able to play your games.

I fully endorse the benefits Xbox one looks to offer with its always on aspect, and I don't see anything dealbreaking with these policies... So I guess I'm doing a disservice to gaming.

Looking forward to building my personal Xbox One gaming collection that I can access anywhere and anytime.

Honestly your loyalty to MS after this pisses me off. I'm probably going to get banned for this rant but its a bunch of bullshit and you're being an idiot to accept such a destruction of your rights to ownership.

Its not about being always online and you won't get it anywhere... just places with broadband internet.

Its about owning what you buy and being able to do with it as you see fit. These policies lead to you not owning anythign ever. You only own it as long as MS decides to support the service or the specific game.

The current status quo where that type of draconian policy was already deliberately held in distinction between owning the physical media or digital copy. While still not a best case scenario, at least you had a choice. Now that choice is gone and and instead you own nothing.

I sincerely hope you are in the minority so this policy dies with the Xbone. Hopefully Sony sees the potetial differentiation it can create between its product and stays clear of anything like this.

Hats off everyone for a fellow brother who is taking a ban like a man to speak the truth.

I don't endorse calling another member an idiot but everything else I 100% agree with.

This is fucking terrible. Anyone who buys an Xbone and endorses this kind of policy is doing a disservice to gaming.

I could actually swallow the no-used game bullshit.

But the 24 hour online check seals the deal for me. No way in hell I'd get this console.

If Sony does the same, btw, I'm out.

Realy  who plays 24 hours straight of games these days?  Thats very reasonable. Imean if anyoen plays 24 horus straight of games then that person should be getting a life . Not  trollign but being serious here. There are signifcant health risk by doing that as thats alot of hours of gaming. All you need ot do after playing is to put the game back in and you are on again for the next 24 hours. HOw hard is that?  SHouldn't even take you 1 min to verfy it. This reminds me of teh blu ray vs dvd situation where ps3 suers complained that its good to ue blu ray because you don't have ot get up and change disc  when changing dvd disc would end being fraster tehn waiting for the blu ray game to load. The rules stated by MS ios actually faire then what i expected. I thought it was going to be alot harsher then that.  People complaining  are cheapskates  and want everythign for free.

Are you hoping to borrow ... for example - EA games on the PS4?
