I resolved to make this thread firstly to support agains my ban but at the end the subject became interesting for me that I will make a new prediction here.

I say Drive Club will outsell Forza 5 in both period... launch time and life time.

Why?

Well my point is support by the fact Forza games have low sales... 2-4M per interaction and for a new console that will not get a big user base in at least two years the numbers will be even low... the Forza franhcise didn't grown over the generation and the only game to have so-so sales was Forza 3.

Drive Club is in the same boat but I think the PS4 will sell more than Xbone so at the end Drive Club will have good number... better than Forza 5 at least.

And you what do you think?

Edited - The bolded part is my opinion... you can ignore that.

Define sales? DC is also heavly bundled and has the advantage of seling on a console with twice the amount sold and has a huge audience in Eurpoe where most of the racing fans are located. In terms of the total sales figure, yes DC will outsell FM5, why? There are many reasons why. Forza and GT dont sell well anymore. GT6 sold around 3 million on a console with over 80+ USER base.

Take into account Qaulity > Qauntity. FM5 isnt a racing game for the casuals and being a launch title didnt do that game justice with content. However its still up there with thhe best Racing sims on the market.

In other words, Game A will sell more then Game B on a console with more sold.

Yeap GT6 sold only 3m lol

I have to read some crazy comments.

Do you think that Poliphony Digital is being subsidized by Sony? Or do they profit enough by releasing a GT every 4 or 5 years?

You tell me how Poliphony make there income? There next game better break record books, no company wants to wait years to sell underwhelming numbers. If you research on how companies fall or are sold off in the gaming industry, its normaly becasue they take took long to make a game and on release thoise games never live up to sales expectations. Rare under Nintendo is a good example.

It's pretty easy to figure out:

GT4 to GT5 Prologue: 2004 > 2007 = 3 years

GT5 Prologue to GT5: 2007 > 2010 = 3 years

GT5 to GT6: 2010 > 2013 = 3 years

GT6 to GT7 (scheduled): 2013 > 2016 = 3 years

+ paid for DLC

A money making product every 3 years is pretty normal for a game studio. Considering each game sells around 10 million with even the Prologue selling around 6 million, that's plenty of income right there.

Now if we look at costs, Polyphony Digital has 110 employees which is actually pretty normal for a game studio. For comparison sake, Turn 10 who release a Forza game every year have around three times the number of employees.

Wrong Turn 10 doesn't release a game every year Forza Horizon is made by Playground Games.

Congrats dc on beating a game on its 5th iteration. Great game, the lenghts people twist facts to support their bias.

Except for the fact that it hasn't surpassed Forza 5 in total sales yet that 2 million for Driveclub includes digital sales Forza 5 already has sold over 2 million physical copies and when you include digital copies it is still ahead of Driveclub.

You mean give away those copies, F5 was a big freebie for a long time.

I guess you fail to realize that Driveclub was heavily bundled in Europe also.

F5 was a world wide give away, and still barely above a new ip.  Quite pathetic actually.

LOL F5 was a launch game the X1 had a zero install base when it was released.  Driveclub launched on a console that already had a instal base of over 12 million units.  The only thing that is quite pathetic are you comments.  Also Forza sold the most copies in North America where is was bundled the least on the other hand Driveclub sold the most in Europe where it also was bundled the most.  If Driveclub was really more successful then FM5 it would have already sold twice as much as FM5 since there are almost twice as many PS4 sold then X1.

Either way, it's obvious that Polyphony make a profit.

What kind of argument is that? Launch games usually sell well. They get a bootstrap in sales at launch since there are only few games. Then they obviously have been in the market longer, which means more sales in the longer period. Also Forza 5 sold more in USA where the XB1 has more than twice the European sales. Both games have been bundled so that's not relevant.

You can argue that in relative numbers FM5 sold more per console. But that's not what this thread is about. In absolute terms DC most likely will outsell FM5. Because DC is still supported, while FM5 is going to be soon replaced by FM6.
