Forums - Microsoft Discussion - XBox One $350?

So this is kind of a odd thing, but my friend entered the contest on gametrailers for a XBox One and saw this.

Just entered to win an Xbox One from Gametrailers and I wanted to see when they would announce the winners. But I saw this

3. Entry period commences 11:59:59 a.m. (Eastern Standard Time), June 4, 2013 and ends 11:59:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time), June 6, 2013 (the "Entry Period"). One winner (the “Winner”) will be selected by Sponsor in a random drawing from among all eligible entries on or about June 24, 2013 (the “Drawing”). Odds of winning will depend on the total number of eligible entries received. Limit one (1) Prize per household.

The approximate retail value of the Prize is $350.00.

It's just that simple.

in contests you typically can take the prize or the "cash value". more often than not the cash value isn't 1-to-1 with reality and with the true cost unknown they will low-ball their guess regardless so they aren't on the hook for more than they need to be.

No one cares dude, it's the XBOX One.

Besides, it's probably just equivalent to the cash value of the prize, not the price of the console itself.

The console itself it woth £1/$1 so yeah.

Over valuing a bit... ^.^

Don't hate me.
Hate my swag.

You were't there for the ride.
So don't be there when I park.

The PS4 + PC can live in harmony.
The Xbox One can- TV! TV! TV! TV!

http://www.gametrailers.com/games/ewdnae/remember-me/memory-remix It's from this game.

Thanks for the info though. Last time they had a contest similiar to the 360 it was for a lower end version (core) let's see what happens.

I think its a requirement to list the value of items you can win as you are supposed to still pay taxes on them as if they were income. I dont think you have the option to take cash instead.

But that doesn't mean that is the final price, they just have to have something there i believe.

nope.

I am positive in my opinion that PS4/XB1 will be over $400.

maybe it depends on the contest.  my HS calculous teacher was on the price is right.  he didn't like what he won so he took the cash equivalent instead.

Nah, at least $399

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

It's just speculation.

Very, very unlikely. It will have a price tag higher than $ 400, for sure. Maybe if they launch a version with a mandatory 2-year network subscription, and no bundled game, it would be something between $ 350-400.
