Is the Xbox One looks growing on you

Forums - Gaming Discussion - Is the Xbox One looks growing on you

During the X1 reveal, the first thing I thought was that I was in the 80s with the look of the console.  Now that I have seen many pics, the look of the console is actually growing on me.

Lately within my home I like stuff that does not demand attention.  I do not want anything with a bunch of lights, crazy shapes, blinking you name it.  I want something that just blends and goes away until I need to use it.  It seems that MS design choice for the X1 was 2 fold.  First to make it very simple and basic so it’s not demanding you to look at it.  Next it needed to be well ventilated so the chance for RROD to happen will be just a bad dream.

no, honestly to me it looks uglier everytime i see it

I actually like the look of the box and the controller. Gives me a nice 80's feel with some present "slick"

But it's a trojan horse kind of thing for me, considering I know it's intentions and policies. It's kind of scary.

It looks more grown up than either the XBox or the XBox 360. I prefer it over its predecessors.

Never had much of an issue with the look, but I can't tell if I'll like something until I see it in person.

All I see is a rectangular box..I don't love it but I don't hate it either. It looks fine.

Its fugly and bulgy but most of that extra bulge is there to prevent any overheating/RROD disaster. The first redesign will probably make it a lot smaller especially if the skip the 22nm chipset process and make their first redesign using 14nm chips which will probably be cost effective and widely available in late 2015. Another minor thing that bothers me about the design is that the camera lens on the Kincet 2.0 is not in the center.

I am wondering if its a younger older gamer preference as well.  I am up there in age so the design looks fine to me.  There was a point in time when I like crazy design and like this pic.

There were some concept PS4 images as well that went along simlar lines and they look great but under your TV they would be an Eye sore after awhile when you wish all that lighting stuff can turn off so it does not distract when you are watching TV or a movie.

i still think it's ugly and i still don't really care. wish the kinect sensor looked a bit better, that would actually reside in a visible location due to its function. ..not that ps4's camera looks any better.

Once you reach perfection, it's impossible to grow further ;)
