Forums - Microsoft Discussion - CVG: Hands-On With Xbox One's Impressive Controller

This what I expected from the next gen controller - no LCD, no touchpad, just better. New rumble system sounds very promissing.

Exactly. I was so worried MS would add some dumb gimmick to the controller that would unnecessarily drive up the price. I don't want to have to spend an extra 20 bucks on a controller just to get a touchpad I don't wanna use, or a low quality speaker making crappy sound effects that I don't wanna hear.

rumble seems awsome

Great news, I never doubted they'd deliver on a great gamepad though

@andrespetmonkey
tl;dr It's awesome.

I love the fact that this runs on AA batteries, the play and charge kit battery died on me after 2 years so if they would have had it with integrated batteries the 10 year lifespan would simply not work.

'm loving that their is directional feedback which means it changes a lot!

Surround-sound style rumble, can simulate right-hand pistol shot recoil and heart-beat, may be instrumental to locating hidden enemies in future applications. Can simulate fireball by expanding vibration outward from center to fingers.

Battery pack pushed into controller, now controller feels more lightweight.

Screw holes removed less annoying (if it ever was).

More comfortable and responsive d-pad with "satisfying click" (never found clicks interesting).

Analog stick dead zones are corrected (never noticed).

Better angles.

Somehow employs some 40 innovation measures.

thanks bruh. Rumble sounds awesome. Nothing on PC compatibility by any chance? I'm sure it will, but would like confirmation before I buy another 360 pad.

Meu prazer. No mention of PC compatibility of advanced rumble, no PC-compatibility mention at all.
