I see there being too many things that can go wrong with the No Used Game idea:
1) Your console must be connected to the Internet to authenticate the New Game, meaning you NEED an Internet connection (some people won't have one)
2) What happens when you buy the game and find out you didn't really like the game that much.
3) People would instead to prefer buying their games as Digital Downloads instead (where you pretty much
own the game forever, see next
4) and the games would Stockpile overtime, unless you threw them away (I'm sure Eco-Friendly people would hate this just as much).
5) Companies would also lose some Free Advertisement if for instance you wanted to show your friends how cool your New Game is but can't, unless you bring your console with you as well.
>There's probably also a lot more too, if anyone else wants to add to this.

Not too bad... Devs get more money, release more games and cost of games drop...

I said this in on other threads only to be quoted to death, just goes to show you.

I think the average I pay for new games is around $70 NZD. But if I factor in used games that I buy, and games that I sell once I'm done with them, that average probably does drop to about $50.

If the launch price of a game dropped to $80 NZ and the platinum price dropped to about $40, and the bargain bin prices dropped to about $20 I think I would probably by almost as many games as I do at the moment.

I never sold my games, I stock them up, these are relics.

For the online thing, Sony had a patent to write on one part of the bluray the psn account linked to the game if I remember correctly, so there are other solutions.

You buy the game and didn't like it : There's always the possibility to only tie the account after x hours in game, and if you don't like the game, you exchange it in store.

Friends : Well, if it's tied to the online account there is always the possibility to connect with it on antoher console when it detects the game is tied to another account. By writing the password on the disc for example, so that you wouldn't need to be online to connect.

This late in the gen, most games receive massive price cuts a mare weeks after launch. I picked up Far Cry 3, Hitman Absolution and Need for Speed most wanted for half price withing 2 weeks of release. These games would not have sold anywhere near where they did without the price cut.

There is no reason to make games cheaper. And used games really isn't that big of an issue.

If MS keeps their current stance, than any game for download should have some sort of demo, or trial period

I always trade in games though to buy a new game. So no used sales would basically cause me to buy hardly anything at all. I am stubborn like that. I am sure many are the same. Or they would just take longer to save up.

That's what I do too.  Games around here cost up to US$100, so selling old games is even more important here.

Where do you live exactly ?

I live in Chicago, Illinois. Lots of used game stores around here, so it would definitily hurt the economy some.

And used games cost less than 66% of the new game prices ?
