Sony's full-year PS3 sales target has been sliced dramatically, the platform holder now hoping to sell 9.5 million systems rather than 11 million. This cut comes despite booming third-quarter sales which totaled more than 4.9 million globally.
The PSP, on the other hand, is expected to beat previous targets, which have been raised from 10 to 13 million.
Profits for quarter ending December 2007 were still up, the company netting 12.9 billion Yen, or about 62 million GBP. The company made a loss during the same quarter in 2006.
The improved results were put down to falling PS3 hardware costs and improving sales, both for the PSP and the PS3.
The PS2 meanwhile, shows signs of finally beginning to fade out...
