Forums - Gaming Discussion - Is anyone excited for the PS4 and XboxOne anymore, because I'm starting to feel overwhelm?

I never been much of a fan of the Xbox brand and I was hoping the new Xbox (XboxOne) would suck me into the console and brand, but to be honest, It just made me feel even more alienated. Its not only just the DRM/used game issue ,but I never like how Xbox Live work. I felt PSN offer more for a better value compare to Xbox Live.

Now I'm hearing rumors that the PS4 will probably follow microsoft footsteps. Sony was going to announced their plans for DRM, but after the back lash at Microsoft, they decided to put it on hold. Not to mention, while 7 free ram is great for devs, I feel Sony are making the same mistake just like the Vita. Focusing too much on powerful, how the heck can anyone afford that just like the Vita, I can buy that, and worst of all, none of my content won't carry over to the PS4 so I can't trade in my PS3. Plus, imaging how much it must cost to built these systems is nightmarest (if thats a word lol). No one won't use all that power so you can probably expect most games running in 1080p at 60 FPS ,but who's willing to pay for that tech, knowing Sony won't be lowering the price anytime soon because they can't afford it and I don't want to sound like one of those people ,but I pretty much consider the Vita a failure at this point.

I'm not saying the Wii U is perfect ,but for what it is, it have a better value. Plus at this point, I'm even considering the Ouya and Game Stick as part of the console race. There some exclusives that have me interested into the Ouya.

I'm not saying the PS4 or XboxOne will be a instant failure, especially the XboxOne, the Xbox brand is extremely popular in America so I'm sure the Xbox will be find, as far as I know.

With all this drama going on, felt I had to get this off my chest.

PS: I hope the Sly Cooper IP become a Nintendo exclusive in the future, seeing how Sony treated that game in advertisement compare to other exclusives. Not one single TV ad, no wonder that game did bad in sales. :(

Plus: The PS2 and Gamecube are my all time favorite consoles.

Plus: Just realize something, EA stop there online pass process before the Xbox Event, then the news of DRM bursts all through the net and lately, EA been hyping not only XboxOne ,but PS4 to, saying how there much better then high PCs of today and beyond. Its hard to imaged one publisher being for to do DRM for one console and not the other. Could this be another reason why EA avoid the Wii U...?

Just saying, but I hope I'm wrong.

I am.

I just dont want Sony to do the used game thing but we will see. I know if we have to deal with any type of always online check up sh!t then i'm just going to have to swag it out with Wii U for the gen. It will be hard but ill be damned if im going to by a police state console and be checked up on like im some kind of criminal.

I also dont want to deal with having to install each game. We already had to install some parts of games on ps3 and your telling me we have to go through that again and download THE WHOLE GAME?

and then we have that mandatory camera sh!t that cant be unplugged.

GTFO!

I hope Sony doesnt add this irrelevant sh!t and keep that sh!t over there with the other guys.

We will see what happens though

I hate to be the one to say it but cartoon style games, like Sly Cooper, would probably flourish on Nintendo if the right cards are played.

All 3 consoles will be successful. I personally see the PS4 to come out on top but what makes us frustrated is that our expectations aren't being met. However, what usually soothes our minds are our favorite games being released. Just wait until the goods hit the shelves and doubts will drive away. The Wii U may be waaaaaaay down right now. However, they are faaaaaaar from quitting now. So haters of all 3 kinds... everybody will experience some level of success. Some more than others, so get over it.

All the talk about DRM and used games has drained most of my excitement, and now I'm waiting for 100% confirmation from Sony and MS, which will determine whether or not I get their systems.

Nope, I am still super excited for next gen. Most of the recent news has not turned me off at all. I understand there is reason to be upset but Im not one of those people. I am the guy who bought simcity day one and still thinks its a fantastic game.

If I wasn't interested in next gen there is little Nintendo has done to convince me to buy the WiiU at this point. I would much rather just keep my PS3 as it seems all the same. Then again I am just not that interested in Nintendo first party games apart from Smash. So to each his own.

What happened with the whole sim city thing? Ive seen a couple people bring it up.

I was also thinking about just rolling the ps3 wave longer if Sony went all ouy like the other guys but im sure Sony wont add that stuff anyways. The only thing they implemented was the ability for devs to block used games to charge an extra fee but hopefully they will drop that wack sh!t

But they haven't actually confirmed anything. Just that they're happy to see passionate fans. Sony is likely to sugarcoat their DRM / used game inhibitors as *much* as possible in order to avoid backlash.

I'm definitely excited for this next generation of consoles and will buy one if not both consoles. The extreme negative drum beat rhetoric by so many only makes me dislike those posters and doesn't change my optimistic outlook on both the XBOX ONE and PS4. As for the Wii U, It's so last gen and is a write-off IMO.

I'm actually feeling kind of excited.

I just want them go go through this for the absolute lolz. That and I want to see certain areas of the industry burn.

Kind of a sick, twisted excitement. But it's highly probable that Sony's going to start charging for online play.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

It's been a long time for the next gen to show up and it's just beginning. I’m enjoying every minute, its great there is so much going on, sure there is a lot of negative stuff and they have become talking points and rightly so. The passion out there for gaming is amazing to see on all sides and we have not even got to E3 yet where more pieces of the puzzle will be revealed, I am having a great time :)
