Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why so surprised about the direction MS is taking XBox?

I saw it coming since Sony into the picture, Microsoft took it further with the Xbox live, so I saw this coming when everybody except it... EA was the stepping stone of where this was really going... >.>

Over the course of time, I was wonder which console maker would take th first step, more like between Microsoft or Sony. But Microsoft proved me right! X'D

I'm honestly surprised so many of the rumors came true. I really did think it was just rumors getting out of control or people misreading things, but it really is always on (yes once every 24 hours counts) and it really does install the games to stop used games. I mean I was leaning towards PS4 anyway and of course getting a WiiU once it has Mario Kart and Smash, but I was willing to give Xbox a chance if they showed some awesome games, but all they showed me was that I am not their intended audience as someone who plays games 90% of the time on my console (10% for blurays).

The reveal didn't surprise me. Now showcasing some megaton exclusives at E3....that would surprise me and bring out the true Xbox fan in me.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Not being surprised doesn't mean you have to like it.

this.  patcher has been preping us for this for like 3 years now.  still not the focus i want in my gaming hardware.

I wasn't surprised by the features (or the direction Xbox is heading), but I was surprised by how Microsoft presented it all. In the worst way possible. They say: "Well, we might possibly have that bad thing..." at all questions, which is bad, 'cause if they don't have them, then say you don't, or if they have it they should rather come out and say: "Yes, we have always online. Why? Because it makes us able to make the One an incredibly powerful console" and so on. And don't get me started on the conference.

Remember all that was said about the Wii at launch and look how that worked out.
Not too happy about the reveal myself thus far but seeing as how the specs are more or less on par with 4 I reckon MS are trying to corner both markets with a console much less focused on the perception of been hardcore whilst still been able to run anything the 4 can run also.

Not sure if it will work out and I imagine Sony will be going for the entertainment hub as well.
I think Kinnect 2 is there killer app to get the housewives buying it.

I hope that doesn't sound sexist but I am thinking of the mums who see this ad on telly like they did with the Wii and go out and buy it whilst the other end of it will still be intact.

What's there to be surprised about? New Xbox looks great from what they showed...

All this DRM stuff is needlessly inflated and should be ignored until there is official word.
