Just go into the threads and look at the list of people in each one. Unless the Nintendo thread took the roster out of it, i'm not sure. I don't know about being more vocal. I think it just seems like Sony fans are more vocal.

The reason I say this is because Sony is kind of in the middle between the other two. Nintendo and Sony are closer than Nintendo and Microsoft, so the two will more likely overlap when it comes to topics. The same is true the other way, Sony and Microsoft are closer than Nintendo and Microsoft. Since the libraries are closer as well, there's more of a chance you will get a Sony fan comparing the Playstation library to the Xbox library than you will a Nintendo fan comparing Nintendos library to the Xbox's library.

I think any amount of fanboyism drives people to dislike/be pessimistic about their rival. Between the big 3 Sony is the closest rival Nintendo has and at the same time the closest rival Microsoft has.

I think your analysis is pretty good! And it would explain why sony fans are seen everywhere; from nintendo threads to MS threads. It's simply because they can relate to each of the offerings of the other 2 groups - and that's why they are perceived as being more vocal and over represented.

So it appears it's just a good time be a SONY fan.

Sony is in a terrible financial position, they've said they don't plan on launching with a large loss, PS4 will be $599.

Or to everyone whining about it:
a) Who cares what you like. If you're happy with your purchase then be happy.
b) It's a console, not a religion. You don't have to sign your soul over to anyone and can happily change at will
c) So far, Sonys expo was the best, so it would probably be more accurate to say "most people impressed with Sonys performance.

Its not true, from my experience on the Internet.

Nintendo fans and PlayStation fans tend to be about equal depending on whats happening at the time. If Nintendo consoles arent doing too well, then PS fans tend to have the upper hand. If PS consoles are in a hole, then Ninty fans tend to be the more prominent.

On another note, PS fans in general tend to be the louder of the fanbases. This is due to being "attacked" from 2 sides. Both Xbox fans and Nintendo fans get on at PS fans, but Nintendo fans and Xbox fans tend to ignore eachother. Think of it more as a "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" thing. PS fans will be fighting on 2 fronts, while Xbox and Nintendo fans tend to just get on at PS fans.

Thus, you get the illusion that "The Internet is flooded by Sony fans".
