Forums - Gaming Discussion - Are Sony fans worried about XB1's 15 exclusives?

i'll certainly be jealous when they roll out some rpg's,next gen fantasy worlds should be pretty impressive

i wonder if they will be all console exclusives i remember the hoohaa about exclusives and console exclusives terminology

                                                                                                                                        Above & Beyond

Why would they be worried?

Both consoles will have their fair share of exclusives. And besides, people that are already sold on either of them are likely so because of the first party offerings. Third party exclusives are usually timed anyway.

What exactly is MS bringing to One at launch? Sony has Knack, Drive Club, inFamous and Killzone already announced with more ready for E3. Counting digital games, I wouldn't be surprised if Sony releases more than 15 exclusives in PS4's first year.

All Sony really has to show me is FF versus and I could care less what else they show anyway.

Doesn't that in itself tell you you probably aren't the best person to be trying to compare the two lineups?

Who is the best person to compare line ups? Probably nobody

I play pretty much every genre of game, and very little will get me excited more at the start of a new generation than a bunch of cool new IPs, but there are certain games that would always get me hyped more, and become a priority for me.

FF13 Versus happens to be one of those games. So ya, if Sony has that as an exclusive, and ACTUALLY RELEASING, I could disregard the rest of the line up. Just like if MS said Jade Empire 2 was launching exclusive I could happily disregard the rest of that line up.

Doesn't mean I can't compare the line ups as a whole

ohhh....misread that statement to mean the only thing you care about in the slightest from Sony is FF13vs.

nvm then.

Quantum is from Remedy, so chances are it won't be a hit.

Knack looks amusing

Drive Club will be hurt by GT6 on PS3

inFamous and Kill zone both declined quite a bit in sales. Especially inFamous, I don't know why Sony wouldn't let those Studios make new IPs instead of pushing two that the market isn't responding to.

I don't doubt Sony will show more, but I haven't seen a winner yet.

As for MS, we know very little, except Forza 5 and Quantum Break. Forza is a guaranteed hit, and Quantum is from Remedy, so chances are it'll be amazing. Other than that we'll have to wait for E3, but if they do have many core AAA titles in the works, then I think there's a good chance they'll have the upper hand on Sony by a good margin.

Of course I could be wrong. Time will tell.

All Sony really has to show me is FF versus and I could care less what else they show anyway.

Guerilla is making two games. One is a new IP.

They can't have only new IPs at launch...they will have a mixture of both, as it always is with new consoles.

Quantum is from Remedy, so chances are it won't be a hit. Are we discussing sales or quality here? Because you seem to switch between the two when it fits your argument better. Also, Forza is a declining franchise too by your definition. Went from 5.37m to 3.96m (Forza 4). And it gets worse if you look at the spin-off, but I won't since it's a spin-off.

Remedy made two hits with Max Payne 1&2

Sam Lake recently said Alan Wake had sold 3 million, so it's done pretty well, and it's noteworthy that the game was pirated over a million times the year it released as well. It's not like people didn't want to play it. I think it's quality is unquestionable.

Forza 4 is behind 3 in sales, but it's also been on the market for 2 years less, and 3 has had extensive bundeling. I wouldn't say there's much decline, if any when you take those factors into account. Horizon obviously is a different story.

You're way too preoccupied with sales.  I think Killzone is amazing.  If I like it, I don't care who else buys it.

Isn't that what these site is about? Sales

I would actually agree with you that Killzone is a great game (2 was anyway, didn't care for 3 as much), but it seems to me that it would have made more sense for Sony to let Guerilla work on a new IP

But that's what they are doing!

Good to know

Can't wait to see it

Wat

I'm using his definition of a hit. Apparently 2-3m isn't enough.

Max Payne sold over 5 million copies xD
