Forums - Gaming Discussion - Are Sony fans worried about XB1's 15 exclusives?

OP would be right if Sony had actually given a number. They haven't. There could be 33 new IPs waiting for all we know.

Also, praising non existant games , lol.

Now MS hasn't made, or published too many different AAA games this gen. There's pretty much Halo, Gears, Fable, Forza, Alan Wake, and Crackdown that I can think of, top of my head. I'm not counting things they published that went multiplat later. Now, of those 6 games I mentioned, 4 are big sellers, one is a cult hit, and the other has done moderately well, but disappointed last time out. So 5/6 games that MS backed strongly have gone on to become big hits. That's a damn good ratio. If even just half of the 15 games MS has in the oven for X1 are core titles, and not the "kinect crap" so many of you wish them to be, Sony will likely be severely outclassed with their first party content, because while Sony tries their hand at a lot of games, not many of them ever really take off.

Now to go at this. Using what you said here... Id say for mainline games, these are alright numbers.

  • Halo - 9 to 12 Million
  • Gears - ~6 Million
  • Fable - 4 to 5 Million
  • Forza - 4 to 5 Million
Right. Those are Microsofts big franchises, though Gears IP is owned by Epic.
  • Alan Wake - 1.2 Million
  • Crackdown - 1 to 2 Million
These arent big franchises/games. The bigger franchise would be Kinect Sports.
Now, we need to compare that to Sony. Currently, these are alright numbers.
  • Gran Turismo - 10 to 12 Million
  • Uncharted - ~6 Million
  • LittleBigPlanet - 3 to 5 Million
  • God of War - 2.5 to 5 Million
Those are Sony's "big" franchises. To look at the smaller stuff.
  • Killzone - 2.5 to 3 Million
  • inFamous - 1.5 to 2.5 Million
  • Heavy Rain - 2.5 Million
  • Ratchet and Clank - 1 to 2.5 Million
  • Resistance - 1.5 to 4 Million
There are games missing from both companies lists. Though as you can see, when it comes to "big" titles, they are both quite even.
I cant wait for E3.

Put Dead Rising 3 there.

lol... this is Microst. You realise that? You realise they lie to you and dont care right? A good portion of those "15" exclusive will:

a) Be kinect games.
b) Be indie games published by microsoft.
c) Be delayed past the first 12 months.

Look at this as the Nintendo "launch window". Microsoft isnt gonna have 15 AAA games ready to go in 12 months. Especially if the rumors that they cancelled stuff is true. This, just like most of the stuff Microsoft pulls, is just smoke and mirrors. I reminds me of the: "and Xbox one is gonna release on............. later this year!". That is Microsoft in a nuttshell. They lured you in and then proceed to crush you like a grape once you're in reach.

Maybe! Like I said, something similar

No for 2 reasons.

1 "15 exclusives" is pretty much the same as "Agent" is coming soon. Until we actually see something viable, I'm not buying it.

2. In feb, Sony announced killzone, Driveclub, knack, Deepdown. Straight out of the bat, there's four games that actually shows you something instead of a piece of white text on a black background.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

What exactly is MS bringing to One at launch? Sony has Knack, Drive Club, inFamous and Killzone already announced with more ready for E3. Counting digital games, I wouldn't be surprised if Sony releases more than 15 exclusives in PS4's first year.

Knack looks amusing

Drive Club will be hurt by GT6 on PS3

inFamous and Kill zone both declined quite a bit in sales. Especially inFamous, I don't know why Sony wouldn't let those Studios make new IPs instead of pushing two that the market isn't responding to.

I don't doubt Sony will show more, but I haven't seen a winner yet.

As for MS, we know very little, except Forza 5 and Quantum Break. Forza is a guaranteed hit, and Quantum is from Remedy, so chances are it'll be amazing. Other than that we'll have to wait for E3, but if they do have many core AAA titles in the works, then I think there's a good chance they'll have the upper hand on Sony by a good margin.

Of course I could be wrong. Time will tell.

All Sony really has to show me is FF versus and I could care less what else they show anyway.

And what's the problem? Isn't it said that indie's nowadays are better than AAA games?

Doesn't that in itself tell you you probably aren't the best person to be trying to compare the two lineups?
