Forums - Sales - Could the Wii U dip below the DS at some point this year?

Not after the Xbone pushed its sales

Nope. I'll be surprised to see it go below 20k, while I'll be surprised to see DS go above 20k.

By the time holidays come around to give DS a boost, Wii-U should've found its feet.

I do not really see any games that are going to push sales for the long term as of right now. I see a uptick in japan, where sales are the lowest surprisingly, but most the games coming to the West will not push sales much. NSLU is a nice publicity stunt that probably did not take much to make, but it will also fizzle out fast I fear. If E3 brings it for once this year, then all will be well.

I don't see any games improving sales until Pikmin releases, really.  New Super Luigi U might do something, but I think the boxed version will have the impact rather than the download version.  Maybe it'll do better than I'm anticipating since everyone's hot on Luigi's Mansion lately.

Either way, I do agree with you, there's not a lot to push sales.  But they have to bottom out somewhere, and I think 20k is as good a place as any.  Who knows!

lol, I don't think even the wii u can sink that low.

DS still needs to get down to $99 (even though the last price cut didn't do much) so I'd say some of the Summer weeks maybe

It will if Nintendo continue to do diddly squat to help it.
Hell, the Xbox One's reviled conference has done more to help Wii U than ANYTHING Nintendo has done so far.
E3's about the only thing between now and Pikmin 3 in AUGUST that might breathe some life into it. That's a lot of time for it to continue to stagnate and decay.

It wont sink that low but things will keep dragging until the fall.

nah

It's possible. I doubt the Wii U will drop quite that low, but if the DS gets a bump from somewhere, it could definitely overtake, at least briefly.

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

I don't see it. I don't see the Wii U going down any further from now. There's nowhere to go but up!
