Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What if Nintendo does the same thing with Used games?

Didn't care about Microsoft (supposedly) making this decision; could not care less if Nintendo did the same.

Besides, it's not like I'd ever consider reselling Nintendo first party titles anyway.

true true. But the what we have seen from the ps4 with the cloud technology, the Wii U will be behind again.

I don't know how i'll take it. Some people will be happy while others will rage. Who knows. A solar flare might hit earth and destroy all electronic equipment. Than we go back to playing with stones and marbles.

I would switch to PC gaming as STEAM will work on any PC i link and does not rely on "generations" to work.

Once next get in over and all services are off, you are screwed on a console. Not because of used games but because if your system dies and you buy a new one, you are screwed as you can't activate your own owned games.

Well the nature of "cloud" services is it does not matter what the box can do, it just has to access something, be a window to something, all the other processing is handled somewhere else, so we can not say exactly that cloud services are the reason its behind, I would say its likely the ram most of all, but I feel they could augment their system by eating into the onboard flash memory via a system update. In any case I don't think any system could stay behind, there is no reason, barring exclusivity that any system will have to lack (forever) nearly all the same multimedia features.

Honestly, personally, I don't have too much of a problem with it. I would change my buying habits, and be much less likely to risk buying a game I wasn't sure I'd like. Instead of buying cheap used, I'd wait longer for a price cut on new software. I do some trading, but probably less than 25% of the games I buy go back to the store, but I guess the money back from those would decrease my buying further.

I can see how the online requirement absolutely sucks for people with poor/no internet, and for those who do a lot of trade ins, but it's unlikely to prevent me from gaming. Just slow down my purchasing of console games.
