Don't let the graphics snobs get to you. X will definitely prove that Wii U is next gen.

What PS4 does that's new:

• 10X more powerful than PS360
• Redesigned controller - better form/triggers/analogs, lower latency, headphone jack, touchpad, generally better design than DS3
• Much faster and supposedly intuitive OS/UI
• Much better multi-tasking
• Share button (which emcompasses many different features, and maybe not to you, but to a lot of gamers will be massive)
• Gaikai
• Much better developer support, especially for indies and F2P
• Smaller features: All games avaliable digitally, play games as they're downloading, more personalization, improved user profiles.

This is off the top of my head. There's a lot more new and improved here than there is between PS1 and PS2 for example, but ofcourse you will downplay all of this as much as you can because you've already made up your mind. I could do the same for X1 if you would like.

'Next-gen' has always been accompanied by a leap in computing, and therefore enhanced visuals, so this generation is not any different.

I personally am completely happy with how modern, traditional games play, and am anticipating the next generation of consoles solely for the better visuals.

nickel and dime baby that's what next gen is all about until Nintendo start releasing overpriced dlcs , releasing the same game every year instead of every 3 to 4 years and blocking used games Nintendo will never be considered next gen

IMO: I guess if Wii U is truly next gen then everybody should start comparing Wii U games with PS4 and Xbone. Unfortunately their games are the same and in line with PS3/360, so can you truly call it next gen?

Well honest question here. And you got me . I dont know exactly who are they. But maybe you have heard this complain about the Wii-U in different places. "It is not a truly next gen console". Like Nintendo deceived us all.

So I though, well maybe Sony and Microsoft are going to show us what is that. But they did, suposedly and I failing to see the improvement.

So let me recap a bit.

The Wii won the current generation with a less powerful machine. But it was a next gen machine compared to the ps2-gameCube-xbos era. In everysense. It brought something new. Even Sony and Microsoft were forced to catch up with Kinect and Move.

Now the WiiU is a more powerful machine in comparison with the Wii. Sure less powerful than the previous gen 360 and PS3. But again, Nintendo tried something different, and innovation. Maybe not radical. After all why take unnecesary risks when you are the top dog. 

And even being less powerful than the Ps3 and the 360, and even less powerful (obviously) than the X1 and the pS4, it does this little thing: It let you use your old controllers and your old games. What? You don't want to do that! Well, it is just in case you feel like it.

My second favorite console this gen was the 360. And the third the PS3. But still I think they are awesome. So great that I don't see why bother buying what they call the next gen versions of them. The truly next gen. I dont see where is my money going. Well again, maybe an OUYA and a nice gaming PC.

Well. good point! But people nowadays only do it through a side by side you tube video comparison. They do not play the games on the consoles. OH my God what about the gameplay? WHAT ABOUT THE GAMEPLAY INDEED.
