Forums - Gaming Discussion - Am I the only one who doesn't understand people saying the PS4 reveal was amazing compared to Xbox One?

Why do people keep forgetting that Sony showed off Watch Dogs? That was definitely one of the highlights for me.

That being said, Sony's conference wasn't amazing. In fact it was a little too long and had a little bit too much tech demos. It was gamer focused though, Sony knew who would be watching the reveal so they catered to them. Microsoft knew the same people would be watching their reveal, yet they did their best to disappoint gamers.

We went half-way through the show without a single game being shown or even announced. Then the games they did show were some sort of sizzle real from EA Sports combined with buzz words such as "realistic", "experiences" and "content" and the obvious such as next-gen games will have better animation and graphics.(duh!) Quantum Break was the only surprise at the event, although it looks like some sort of Tv Show/Game hybrid which is weird. Forza 5 reveal wasn't impressive. It was expected, it didn't look next-gen and anyone would believe it if you told them it was coming to 360. Call of Duty's new engine didn't look impressive, we've seen current-gen games that look better than that, at least on a graphical level. Without any real gameplay demonstrations, it didn't leave a strong impression.

I dont remember too many people claiming that the Sony conference was mind blowing but Sony's conference was better than the MS conference and that's for damn sure

MS gave too many negatives to talk about and that's just what it is.

Sonys and M$ both sucked and sucked hard.

But at least MS showed new things. All the new things PS4 revealed i can do on a X1.

Heck its a product reveal right? At least they showed the product.

Because you're a troll... Sony showed games for the PS4...GAMES!!! FOR GAMERS!!!!

Then MS showed TV stuff...TV STUFF!! FOR GAMERS?!!! WTF?!!

I finally see you're true color as an XBOX FANBOY and a TROLL!!

Only a hardcore XBOX FANBOY such as yourself can say that the XBOX ONE reveal was better when clearly it wasn't even targeting gamers. YOU SIR ARE A XBOT FANBOY TROLLING SONY who is blinded by his MS Goggles...

TROLLOLOLOLOLOLLLLL!!!!!

ALL HAIL MUGEN!!!!!

You know for once I pretty much agree with this comment almost completly.

I do think MS did a better job selling to average joe gamer than Sony did though. But I would say Sony certainly appealed to the core base better

yes, yes your are :p

but all seriousness the MS was very underwhelming, nearly half of their show was them talking about Kinect and all their TV services, I don't think their was one live stage demo...I know people saying wait until E3 but they could've set the tone leading to E3 better.

the only plus Ill give them is that they actually showed their console

Games > No Games!

Uh what? The MS reveal was pretty lame if you ask me. Killzone and Infamous looked better than anything MS showed.

That said the purpose of a reveal is to sell your console. Sony didnt do much better.

Perhaps because Sony was focused on Games...that's why we're here after all, right?

MS was all about TV, Content and Experiences...

Not that Sony's conference was brilliant, far from that, but for gamers MS' was a yawn fest.

I think if Microsoft had just cut 5-10 minutes of sports and showed a few more games - or even trailers of games, there would be a much different response.

Remember that tiny short animation of Link from the Pre-WiiU days? Just a few snip-its more would have made it better. Those 30 seconds of the Remedy game provided much excitement.

I just got really tired of Sports. It's just not my thing. Sure, many people like it, and it should really help sell the system. I think many gamers just aren't really into sports - or they wouldn't be inside playing games.

MS told us upfront the games would come at E3.  The launch event was console vision as a whole, which they delivered.  A little preview of all the different console envirionment features, from TV to UI to Kinect features to games.  Just what they said they would do.

And at E3 we're going to get buried in games.  People forget that a dozen good titles in year one of launch window is a windfall of games.  Consoles usually launch with 5, 6 games?

I don;t know why people are expecting 30 titles or something on the first day of a console campaign.  It's completely ridiculous.  They can;t produce quality games that fast, and if they blow out all their devs in the first 6 months, they're going to have nothing new for 16-24 months minimum after that, and then everyone will wonder where the games went.

It's not like they can run over to Radio Shack and pick up a AAA-title kit and whip something out over the weekend.  Think about when they finalized specs and firmware (if it is indeed even finalized) and then think about getting the games up and running and polished/not buggy enough to make a good impression.  I'd be amazed if either company has more than 4 or 5 games even close to that stage at this point.  Games miss the launch windows ALL the time trying to get things right under new systems/engines/console parameters.  Look how many miss their target dates a decade into a cycle.

A lot of you are compltely unrealistic in your expectations, so you're going to be disappointed no matter what in terms of seeing software early.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?
