Forums - Gaming - Can we separate the topics/threads into sections?

For the past 24 hours we have probably gotten 100s of articles posted on this site that all say the same exact things with a different spin on each.  So can we have an official thread for these topics

Example below

Thread 1:  DRM on Xbox One

Thread 2:  Xbox One Internet/Kinect

Thread 3:  EA and Nintendo

These threads pop up on a regular basis and I know forums are loving the negativity and websites are getting tons of hits because of this but can we at least stop with the jumbled up mess of having these threads being posted again and again.  Just make some officiol threads so these things can be talked about.  Just update the threads as information comes in.

Around the Network

A lot of them are different rumors though and the different titles that pop up in hot topics let people know what is different. While with for ex: thread 3 EA and Nintendo it is just that. 10 threads that tell us 10 different things about EA and Nintendo is fine and the original thread creator would not update fast enough imo.

I agree. I haven't bother to participate in the discussion very much because there's a million threads for each thing. I don't know about these forums but all other forums I use have it so that duplicate threads get locked. I suppose it's not possible here since each piece of news seems to need its own thread with its own title (ie. a rant about DRM with the title "Not buying this because of DRM" or something else that's not... neutral). I'd prefer a single thread (ie. "DRM"). Whatever happens, is it possible to do something about the situtation?

Also, why are there a ton of Xbox-only-related threads in general gaming discussion?

Report the duplicates. The mods have always closed duplicate threads when requested.

Get rid of the redundant, duplicate threads, yes. Report them whenever you see them. But when there's new information, a new thread should be justified. I don't mind an official thread existing for people like you to have all the information in one place, but for me and people like me, the thread would be a pain.

Official threads become difficult to keep up with unless you're very active in the thread. It becomes a pain to search in the thread for everything you've missed. It's also not pleasant to read through one massive OP filtering out the massive amount of information you've already seen or don't care about, from the new information you're interested in; which can take quite a lot of more time than a thread where the title clearly states the topic.

That's why I don't post in the already existing Official Threads. I don't mind them existing though. They're good for the people who use them, but not for people like me. BTW, threads are already broken into subforums, which you can filter by. This can help narrow down what type of threads you want to see.
