Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Frustrated with the Xbox One? That’s okay, because Microsoft isn’t building its next system for you

I think people need to stop defending companies that shit on the consumers

@sales2099

The conference was eclipsed. The showing was really poor, and that is true, but people moved right past all of those misgivings the moment they found out about the draconian digital rights management on the system. In comparison the show was fucking nirvana. Do you understand there was like a couple hours of nitpicking. Followed by people having a real serious problem with the console.

best part of the article, and all that needs to be said really...

"So make no mistake; Microsoft is gearing the Xbox One as an all-in-one set-top box, that just so happens to have some of the most powerful and robust video game hardware under the hood."

whats wrong with that?

Funny enough it doesn't. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-spec-analysis-xbox-one

It didnt say "the most powerful", it said "some of the most powerful".

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

As much as I'm kinda ambivalent about this ... the fact is

- Microsoft will get basically every major third party release.

- Microsoft will get some big exclusives (like Respawn's game).

- Microsoft still has Halo and Forza and Gears and probably at least 1 or 2 of their new IP will be geared at hardcore players.

- Microsoft still markets better than either Sony or Nintendo.

It's hard to deny those four points.

The difference with Nintendo at the height of the Wii craze was they overfocused on soccer moms. The XBox One is still heavily focused on making the general male age 14-50 happy (Call of Duty, NFL, Halo TV show, etc.).

It didnt say "the most powerful", it said "some of the most powerful".

But it ISN'T the most powerfull and it won't have the most amount of varied indie and exclusive games either. So what is it's selling point exactly? A glorified source button on a tv?

some of the most...

tell me how many consoles are stronger on the market today?

none.

and in the future...

1 possibly.

just like the xbox 360 situation then

awesome!!

Stronger on the market today? What?

In the future the Ps4 will be more powerfull and have the most variety in games.

If I'm spending $500 on a new generation, it had BETTER do alot more than play mildly better games.

Nearly all the reasons people are ripping MS are the exact reasons why I WOULD early adopt the system. And there's a lot of people like me. They might not be trolling internet forums. But they exist. And MS knows it.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

Nobody is claiming it is.......only that it is among the most powerful.

The exclusive part is pure speculation and you shouldn't talk like its fact. Varied? Just because fps doesnt get the spotlight on PS consoles, doesn't change that fps are the highest selling genre. Just saying. XBLA is extremely varied, but right, its not retail so you don't count it. Sigh

Its a all-in-one media box, not that I had to tell you (maybe I did). Whether that appeals to you or not doesnt concern me...but don't write it off to people that wouldn't mind having that convienence.

Title is a bit misleading, since its built for everyone. Gamers watch tv too ya know.

I know, crazy right? :P

A person that watched the reveal yesterday with no past affilition or very little knowledge to the xbox brand  would say otherwise.

tv, tv ,tv ,tv, sports, sports, sports, 15 unknown games, another game...tied to a TV SHOW, halo tv, spieldberg, water...cooler? tv, sports, CoD, dog...CoD. Oh and pre-rendered trailers galore.

I will agree the title is misleading. I came in thinking that they announced this to be their last console or something.

Just curious, because PS fan made lists consisted of unannounced, and undated games for years. But suddenly this notion is frowned upon.

I remember many lists that consisted of "media mocule new IP" and "Guerilla games new IP" on PS3 lists. I thought that just the idea that they were out there and in developement was enough.

Shit, I didn't make those lists. I don't keep up with that stuff either. Who is their main demographics of buyers? Gamer, more accurately, "hardcore" gamers or dedicated gamers whatever you wanna call them? Who did they focus the MOST time on the reveal? Everybody else.

Gamers are also tv and sports watcher, obviously as you pointed it out, but their job is to keep customer loyalty high and introduce new people to the console. They did the latter no doubt, but gamers felt left out. Granted, they did announced most of their game reveals will happen at E3, but you mean to tell me that you couldn't squeeze in a few more trailers or gameplay on these 15 games? Not even a still picture, behind the scenes video?. Fuck, I'll take a gif.

Lastly, they are planning on shitting on you, on us! The loyal customer! All of the 24-hour connections and used block fees games are "not set in stone" but they shouldn't even be considered in the first place. They are literally shitting into our mouths, the consumers, and expecting us to swallow it and be thankful.

I guarantee to you, if the PS4 pulls off this type of shit, I will shit on them just as hard, if not harder, than on the Xbox one. You have my word.
