The Xbone requires ALL physical games to be installed in the HDD. Add to that all patches, DLC, demos and media people usually keep and 500 GB is not a large amount at all. Say the average next-gen game is 25GB in size, that's about 17 games you could have installed at any given time and that's not including DLC and all the other stuff.

Thats only if you go digital. A disc game thats 25GB big won't take 25GB to install

Full installation REQUIRED. Mandatory for Xbone. They're going to be bigger this gen. Prepare for MANDATORY 25GB installations on average for Xbone.

I know its required, but just because a game is 25GB doesnt mean the installation is gonna be 25GB. You'd have to be talking about some pretty enormous game for it to have 25GB mandatory install

They game must be FULLY installed, why is that so hard to get? Most games will be over 20GBs installation easily, I'm saying 25GB on average. Games this gen are not 1080p and have lots of low res textures, many in part for being developed for X360 which runs on archaic 6.8GB DVDs. Next Gen any game could exceed 20GB easily, and lots of games will, so expect installations to be larger as well.

WHAT!?!?

You have any links for that. Thats pretty insane. Whats the point of the fucking disc then??? You must be wrong, there's no way anyone would be this stupid

Disc is too slow... that's the biggest issue... both PS4 and Xbone will have full installations this time.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-sony-details-final-ps4-spec

"We also have final confirmation on the optical drive utilised - a 6x CAV Blu-ray unit. CAV stands for Constant Angular Velocity, meaning that the disc spins at the same rate no matter where the reading head is. This means that data contained on the outer edge of the disc is read in much faster than that contained on the inner portion. This was much more of a big deal for current-gen games (which mostly run from disc) as opposed to next-gen where hard drive install is mandatory. In order to make the experience as friction-free as possible, games will load the absolute minimum and then "stealth install" the remainder onto the hard drive in the background as you play."

Like I said the issue is the slow blu-ray reads

Hope this doesnt mean launch X1's wont be compatible with external hds.

That's cool. As long as it comes. Id rather use the more convenient external storage idea. Its easier, less fiddly and i can get 2 tb for 60quid.

People are MAD AS FUCK at ethomaz for some reason lol

OT: weird that it can't be taken out but whatever

Not mad at him, per se. Just simply seeking consistent action by moderators. When ethomaz is constantly stealth trolling, posting misinformation, spamming, amonth other things I have found him breaking the rules, yet gets away with it, that's not right. Especially when others somehow get banned for rightfully questioning ethomaz's credibility when he posts inaccurate information.

OT: As others have said, not being able to take it out makes no difference. Hook up an external 1TB drive and you're good to go.

Not to mention I'm sure they will have a 1TB version in a year or so.

We're quite aware of your reports and take them under advisement (ethomaz has a sizeable mod history, contrary to your claims, so he's certainly not ignored when he goes over the line), at the same time, being trigger happy with report threats is not good for discussion.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

It will be (probably not for games, but for any other contents), but not since launch, later.

I don´t think many games will go beyond the 15-20GB.

Why wont Sony support external storage for games? Stupid is stupid. So im going to have to keep upgrading and upgrading and losing save files. Its bull crap to be honest.

Yeah, swapping internal drives isn't what I'd consider a good option. I'm confident that external storage support will be added though.
