I'm 23 years old and I feel like time is flying by so fast, it's surreal to think I lived through 5 different eras of console gaming already. Genesis vs SNES era; Playstation vs N64 era; Dreamcast vs PS2 vs Gamecube vs Xbox era; Xbox 360 vs PS3 vs Wii era; and now Wii U vs PS4 vs Xbox One.

Has anybody else been reminiscing about the good old days of gaming? Like strong nostalgia? Reflect on your gaming past and tell me what your favorite era was and the legacy they left and the impact it left on you. As we enter a new era, are you going to miss the current generation? Or any of the previous generations?

I miss the PS2 vs Xbox vs Gamcube vs. Dreamcast era.

How I feel as well. When those consoles were announced I was buzzing with excitement and wanted to buy all four if I had the money.

Why? They were still gaming machines with some nice side features like play DVDs or something like that.  Every rumor got me excited about the future, not dreading it like these days feel.   Games were king and ALL four console makers in that period seemed to agree on that.  Great time to be a gamer when console makers fought over for you, rather than fighting you.

Yeah, I wish we were still in the Gamecube era. Consoles were still primarily gaming machines and producing fantastic games.

Nowadays its all multi-media functions and social media crap. Just give me a games console please!

No, the announcements of the PS3 and Wii were super hyped and over the top

I miss the SNES vs Megadrive days. That's when all the best games came out.

Sometimes, i feel nostalgic but not right now. I kept all my old consoles though for that day. But gaming seems to going in some bad directions especially with the second hand and online issues. If only older games weren't so rare.

well depends, I liked how different last gen was because of the new audience it brought in, however I dont like what it has evolved to, and Im not talking motion controls. Im talking paying for used games, no backwards compatibility, ect.. It seems like they are trying to find new ways to ripoff costomers, at least microsoft is. Sony and Nintendo still got the same mindset in a way. just my opinion, last gen was epic till late 2010

Nothing beats an introduction to gaming like the ps1 did.

I miss Saturn x PlayStation x Nintendo 64. So many plot twists on that gen, lol. Awesome games, too.

But the 8th gen looks like a promising war. So now we know all players: Wii U, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Can't wait for the holidays. Getting a new console is GREAT!
