Forums - Microsoft Discussion - How would you rate the Microsoft Conference? Everything you wanted?

4/10 because of controller and the showing of call of duty. the rest bombed horribly

Around the Network

8/10

2/10.
Too much multimedia focus, no interesting games.

Not everything I wanted, but over delivered again.

I always asked myself if Microsoft could really impress me like they did with Xbox 360.

They surely did.

On a scale of 1 - 10 I will rate the conference a 7.

But for what the console will deliver a 10.

Xbox One is going to be killer, like I said it would.

There was just nothing that appealed to me really. I don't need another way to watch TV, or another device with which to use Skype. It seemed very America-focused too.

E3 is when they'll bring out the games, so we'll see. Right now I'm not impressed though.

Hypothetically, lets say MS spent 50/50 talking games and features. Same with E3.

We would have shit on BOTH of MS's conferences and we all know it because half the time was spent talking non-games. This was 80/20 features/games ratio. I expect a total reversal for E3.

Shame though, because you only get one first impression, even if E3 is very close by.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

My impresions of the Show yesterday made gif:

is just so. So... LOL!

2/10 for the kinect features, they are pretty slick
2/10 for the halo serie
0/10 for the rest, it's seems like every year Microsoft get an unprecedented partnership for some sport related stuff that hardly anyone uses
overall 4/10

Come on now! You mean to tell me you did not find that voice stuff really awesome when they were showing it?

I don't see the practical use for the voice control. At the very best, it's a marginal improvement over a remote control.

As for the multitasking, I felt like there's not much benefit, and whatever benefit I saw for the multitasking wasn't presented effectively by Microsoft.

E.g. I just don't see how the quick switch is practical. I never switch or want to switch between TVs, movies, music, while I'm playing a game. I usually watch TV and that's that. If I'm listening to music, I don't just switch to the TV, and back again.

The best way to have sold the quick switch was the following scenario: You're playing a RPG or something and you're suddenly ambused by a huge boss. You pause the game, quick switch to IE and go to GameFaqs, and then get back to the game.

Again though, even if we give the benefit of doubt that the multitasking is SUPERIOR to simply surfing the net on a smartphone or tablet while watching a TV, I only see it as a MARGINAL improvement at best, that doesn't justify a huge price premium.

Finally, the fatal flaw of the Xbox ONE, is that it's strategy is to "unify" everything and become the machine that does it all, but it can never SUBSTITUTE the devices that it's targeting. People will not get rid of their smartphones, even if they have a Xbox ONE. Ditto with a tablet or laptop.

that was the best part of the conferance, but really after the first 15 min that stuff gonna get old fast and am not gonna pay 500$ for a voice control remote that implemant the most anti-consumer features in gaming history.

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

My expectations were low and I was still disappointed.  Then after all the announcements came out about the console after the event, even more disappointment.  1/10.
