vgc numbers that are proven to be wrong on many accounts. Recently they had a huge overhaul on their console numbers and are known to overtrack xbox.

So then why do you bother coming to this site?

Nice forums to post on, great and large playstation community on the forums, get some ok estimates of game sales, and for some news.

Why did you have to crash the thread? The OP had a good idea, but of course there must always be someone that crashes something. If he is using VGC numbers then so be it. Why the hell would he want to use shipped?

The fact that you called him fanboy also makes me see you more of a fanboy than he is. Even if the numbers are wrong, will it make a big difference? No, it won't, just by some 100k's in the average, which is the focus.

So more releases for your top game= more sales? Not surprising, but GT will not get more releases per generation because well it is GT. Halo will never get as many releases per gen as Mario because Mario has a lot of different developers while Halo has just one atm.

btw you have 10 halo games but i have no clue which?

halo,2,3,4, reach, odst, wars, anniversary and what else?

Halo 1, 2, 3, 4, ODST, Wars, Halo 1 PC, Halo 2 PC, Reach, Anniversary.

Maybe I shouldnt have counted PC with just the normal ones.  It drags down the numbers but I know a lot of mario and GT games does the same with there games.

ahh ok, well i don't really care much about this stuff, i did not even post in the other threads but i was just curious. not that i missed some halo games to play haha

It's cool lol  I was tired of seeing all the comparisons in the last few days with everybody having different arguments that go nowhere.

This thread won't be any different

Ehh lol  Well it is really only one person argueing this time instead of 20 at least :) So far anyways.

Personally I think we should wait at least 2 more years so GT6 can be added to this

And Halo 5.

Halo 5 will be next-gen most likely. GT6 is current gen, which is why the "gen 7" table is skewed right now..

I meant for the total sales.

Yes, but then we should wait for GT6 on PS4 too, or GT7 :-d

Then Halo 6 as well.

What Mario games are they including? I doubt that Gran Turismo sells more games than each Mario game... Besides the two new marios.

All of them.  And then all from each generation.

But, Mario golf, Mario super sluggers, Mario Dance Dance Revolution? Or just actual Mario games? Mario lost in time or whatever it was? Or how about Mario Party games? Or what about that special edition Mario game that came out on Marios anniversary for the Wii?

All those mario games are included.

Well that does not count. Actual Mario games have sold way more than GT games. In all the categories above. That is like including a GT party game.....if they ever had one.

Mario does win in pretty much everything.  The only numbers that are relatively close is GC and PS2 which is understandable since GC sold far less hardware than PS2.

It's not even really close. Just forgetting all the "side" games with Mario's name in it, Kart, Party, Paper, & Luigi, the sports games, etc.

The MAIN Mario franchise, by itself, is the highest selling video game franchise in history, for good reason.

I just noticed that. Probably some major overcounting. How can there be only 39 in the past 3 gens and still around 101 in total? o.O

Mario's been around since the 80's. There were Arcade games that weren't counted into JayWood's graphs, I think.

Just the ones that VGC tracks.  One reason there is only 39 is because there is many consoles that is not on this list including.

NES
SNES
GB
GBC
GBA
NDS
3DS
