But yeah, 1998 might have been the best year ever in gaming, so I have to say 10/10

Just because of Xenogears and Starcraft, it was for me one of the best years in gaming.

At the time, the only game I had played was Parasite Eve, the main chick was plastered in various stages of undress in pretty much every gaming magazine I can think of.
Eventually, I came to love Half Life and Thief, thats about it for that year. Never liked MGS, Resident Evil or Nintendo so....

Virtually every single game on the list can be regarded as a classic, many of which redefined their respective genres.

Not every game on that list has held up well, but as far as the 5th generation goes this is unbeatable. Strong PC showing really pushes it over the edge for me (though it was really a strong EVERYTHING showing).
