Forums - Politics Discussion - Man Tricks Girlfriend Into Getting Abortion

This discussion is so ridiculous. TYT never ceases to amaze me.

Of course it murder. Its sad really, they don't want to admit its murder simply because they are pro-choice. I think its funny how most people that are pro-choice throw out all logic to hold that position.

This is kind of going on a tangent, but care to explain your position?

What a bastard, if he didn't want a kid yet then don't have sex! Don't trick your girl into having an abortion, especially if she don't want that. The women gives birth, so it's exclusively their choice if they want an abortion or not

I agree with you that it's the woman's choice to have the child or not. But what of the father? Should he get the choice of "financial abortion"?

Also if this guy is gonna get charged for murder for what he did then logically speaking a 6 week old fetus is being treated legally as a human being with full rights. Why then is it that those rights are not afforded to a fetus if the man wants to keep the child and the woman aborts?

LIberals are opposed to that logical thinking in fear it helps the pro-life movement.

Pardon? I totally agree with Branko. I'm fairly liberal (certainly liberal in the way Fox or a current US Republican would define the word). Where's the logical fallacy?

Laws need to be changed to protect fathers after the child is born also. Women have way too much power with the children

Well what does that have to do with this story?

Just venting?

what does paternal rights have to do with a thread about paternal rights?

The right to trick a girl into killing her unborn child?

Its a little weird. People are hearing this story and somehow turned it into women have too much power.

Your "summary" is very twisted. First of all, you shouldn't use the word killing. Secondly, you should look at the motive behind it and other stuff. You can't just send a man to the gallows for murder without asking him why he comitted it. What if it were in self-defense?

Are laws fair to men when it comes to abortion?

No. Though one fact that seems to escape people now a days is that sometimes laws just can't be fair to everyone involved.

Sure you could give the man the option of a financial abortion... that's fair to him....

Is it fair to the child though? Not really no.

Sometimes the law can't be fair to everybody... and instead can only try to be unfair the least amount possible.

If the majority of society want that child to be taken care of then they should be the one's to pay for it not one man who had no choice at all.

Is it not more fair for everyone to pay than just one person?

I don't know how I could explain myself any further.

That guy killed the fetus. The people in the video want to avoid calling it murder to protect their agenda.

The only way you can avoid calling this murder is by saying fetuses aren't human. I think its illogical to hold that position.

Very good response... I never looked at it from that perspective.

Although it still seems weird to me. Maybe due to the difficulty of quantifying "fairness".

For example, it would be unfair (albeit advantageous) for the mother in such a case to receive donations from another individual. And it's unfair for the guy to have to pay the said donations. So the amount of introduced "unfairness" is quite large. Does the increase to the child's financial health justify that?

While what the person did in this story is wrong it beg's the question of responsibility.

If one person make's a choice about keeping a child or not then one other person should not have to bear the consequenses of the decision.

If a man says he want's to have nothing to do with the child before it's born he should not be forced to pay to support a child he did not choose.

Sure the child should be supported but by everyone not just one guy. Choice should go both ways.

Did you watch the video? Does this sound like a case of self defense?

I'm not saying the guy shouldn't be allowed to defend himself by the way. Obviously it needs to be investigated.
