Comparnig weekly sales are relatively unimportant, because the market one week may not be representative of the general market. Comparing the PS3 and 360 are relatively unimportant, since their difference is likely to be less than 1% so it really doesn't matter, and since both are losers anyway. Comparing sales of two games that sold 500k each is relatively unimportant, since neither of those games would have made any significant impact on the market. Yet VGC users are very interested in these things and much more pointless comparisons.
Comparing Halo and GT tells which console has the biggest exclusive. Like I said, you can call it pointless, but having the biggest exclusive is important to many. I'm not interesting in discussing if it's important since importance is subjective. I'll accept that it's pointless (I really don't care what you want to label it). Just know that many pointless comparisons are the basis of this site.
Questions for you though. You seem to be implying that comparing games of the same genre and comparing consoles are objectively more important that comparing the biggest exclusives of two different consoles. Why? Why is it important to know which console had better marketting? Why is it important to know which FPS game is more popular? And what makes those more important than knowing which console has the biggest exclusive? Please, only objective answers.
