Forums - Gaming Discussion - What are your thoughts on Nintendo?

Great as a kid growing up. Super Mario, Kirby Super Star, Mario All Stars, Yoshis Island, Mario 64, Mario party 2, Perfect Dark, FZero GX, Metroid Prime 1/2 are the games I can think of off the top of my head that will always be timeless to me.

Today I have little interest in their games as they are dead set in appealing to the kids of today. But it makes sense....humans breed much quicker then it takes for them to die. Every 5 years there are millions of fresh batches of human beings that their parents are willing to introduce them to gaming. And it won't be until their late teens-early twenties before they go to other consoles/PC as their main fix.

Nintendo knows what they are doing, but the adult me wishes that just once, Nintendo would come out of their shell once in a while.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

The thread asks what I think about Nintendo. I answer with "I don't care", as in I don't really care about them anymore.

I can't come into the thread unless I have something good to say about them? Lol.

I thought you were saying you don't care about the topic at hand.

No lol. I've just stopped caring for Nintendo because their games don't personally interest me anymore.

Love them. Now please release the wii u vitality sensor.

They make good software, though I don't care for many of them. There hardware, since the gamecube leaves much to be desired though on the home console side.

Why didn't you just write that, instead of posting the obnoxious image macro? It would have been much better.

Because I knew people would attack me for it. It's funny

Care to explaine how they ruined them? I really want to know since I haven't played any sequal of those since the gamecube

Paper Mario went far away from its RPG roots and with Sticker Star they pretty much abandoned any form of meaningful progression while also creating an even more bland combat system and story. Luigi's Mansion 2 on the 3DS ruined the atmosphere and experience of the original because the new one is mission based. You get sent into the house, follow a direct mission, then get sent back out. And the haunts reset every time you do a mission. The whole game destroys what made the first game so fantastic in my eyes.

Every Zelda game caters to a slightly different audience - that's the beauty of the series - I might absolutely love the wind waker, while one friend might absolutely love Majora's Mask, while another might love Skyward Sword - they're different for a reason. Just because you didn't like the most recent Zelda doesn't mean they ruined it. Every installment is going to be different for different audiences.

If you didn't like Skyward sword because of the linearity (some people love that) then rest assured, Eiji Aonuma has confirmed that the Wii U Zelda will be non-linear.
And the 3DS zelda is top-down - again for different audiences. The beauty of the Legend of Zelda is that there is something for everyone - whether you like single player, multi-player, linearity, exploring, adventuring, side-scrolling, top-down, 3D, motion controls, traditional controls - every installment is for a different audience. And if you're like me, you love them all because the core gameplay remains the same.

I'm aware that they are trying to create different experiences to cater to different people. I was giving my view on how I feel about the experiences they're offering. It's been disappointing for me. "The core gameplay remains the same," you say. I don't care about just gameplay. I care about the experience (of which gameplay is a factor of). The core experience has drastically changed and it's been changing for years in a single direction that continues to put me off more and more.

One of the best gaming companies imo. They have made mistake (like everyone in the industry) but somehow they have manage to come on top almost every time.
