Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.

Have not played many, so my list of games is severely limited. I would have to go with Final Fantasy X. What happened in the end did move me when we found out about Tidus and his fate as a result. The whole ordeal was just ... sad. :/

Shadow of the Colossus ... they didn't focus too much on the female character, but the love the protag had for his lady was moving for me.

Either Jansen and Ming in Lost Odyssey because of how it causes Jansen to grow from a cowardly fop into a MAN, or York and Emily in Deadly Premonition because it is off-beat and funny and, ultimately, pretty sad.

i'm obsessed with it, seriously i might need help over it.. i just cant help it though... it's just soooo flippin perfect!! ^.^ and the whole romance from that game is just soo kawaiiii

and to make things worse, when ever i wasn't playing it, i was thinking about it.. aha.. i even couldn't eat straight for weeks.. i wanted to know if they lived happily ever after LOL
