I'm sure Galaxy can be topped, it just might be too out of the box for the series if they wanted to "top" it.

Nintendo has only released Nintendoland, NSMBU and Game & Wario for the Wii U. In the equivalent time for the Wii, they had released Wii Sports, Wii Play, LoZ:TP, WarioWare, Super Paper Mario, Mario Party 8, Big Brain Academy Wii, Pokemon Battle Revolution and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. |
Definitely more content there, but not much high-end stuff. If Pikmin3 and W101 hadn't been delayed, I would argue the 1st party support would have been superior for Wii U. And I would call overall support much better when you factor 3rd party titles like COD, AC3, Batman, Trine2, ZombiU and so on. Maybe Big Brain and Wii Play are considered major support by some, but I would hardly call Wii U dramatically worse than the early stuff on Wii.

I agree with you and the sentiment of your post. But since last year's Nintendo E3 went from hypre train
to train wreck
This year I prefer to use one of this and be late, but safe

I love My Wii U, and the potential it brings to gaming.

Please stop with the damage control. There is no spinning the situation. Seeing as another poster addressed the issue of first party support. I will limit myself to the issue of third party support. Which is virtually nonexistent now, and just wasn't really present at launch. The console got a slew of delayed ports, and the effort from developers, and the end results hardly qualify as being AAA in nature.
Well maybe Assassins Creed III, but that only counts if your only qualifier for the designation is development budget. It wasn't a commercial success, or a critical success either. Actually not a single third party game scored a nine out of ten or higher, and that is saying a lot, because some of them did accomplish such a feet with their original launch on one of the other consoles or both. That means they were made worse by being on the Wii U. Talk about ouch, but it gets even better or worse depending on your point of view.
Not one single game on the platform got a meta review score of nine out of ten or better. The console quite literally doesn't have a single AAA title to its credit third party or otherwise. Even the Wii managed to have one at the time of its launch. Worse yet this is supposed to be a next generation console. What is the justification for this console not having a single game that qualifies as next gen. Not a one, and it isn't like Nintendo didn't have a lot of time on its hands given how long ago it abandoned Wii title development.
There isn't any two ways about it. Nintendo is just abusing you, and your trust in them. I am not being condescending in the least. There isn't any sport to be had here, and there isn't anything amusing about the situation. It has gone way beyond that now. Even at its very blackest Vita owners never managed to get this apathetic about their platform, and I mean a lot of retailers don't even sell the device anymore.
You guys are just plain sliding. Yes you have every justifiable reason to be apathetic, but if you let yourselves go down that path. The Nintendo community on these forums is going to just evaporate. Last week you went through what has to have been your anger phase, and I think as a group you have zipped right past bargaining. At this rate in a month a lot of you are going to be talking about the Wii U in the past tense. You can acquit yourselves so much better then you are.
FPS? I wanted a third person action adventure but that sounds pretty awesome as well!
I call bullshit.
Super Sayans aren't going to be in Smash Bros.
But I do think Mario 3D will be huge. I am just not sure it will be shown at that E3.
what is with Monoltih Soft?? something smells fishy....why wouldn't they show anything from X or Bayonetta 2?

I think it'd be cool (if done right) to have kid Goku in SSB. I don't want Rare to work on another Metroid game, but this rumor makes me feel like that's what they're doing. I was really hoping we'd see an amazing new IP out of them. If any Nintendo studio can create a new magical IP, I feel like it would be them. They remind me a lot of Rare back in the N64 days..
Edit: Yup, misspelled the first "Retro" as "Rare." I guess that helps solidify the fact that I do indeed feel these companies are very similar. :P
