I agree.  When FF10 was released and how easy they made the combat, I jokingly made a comment to a friend that we'd do nothing more than press one button in battle on future Final Fantasy titles.  You know what?  It really happened.  In Final Fantasy 13 they recommend you press auto battle at the beginning of the game and while you switch your classes mid battle, you're still usually hitting auto battle repeatedly.  Final Fantasy 12 you can set gambits to where you don't interact with the game during battle at all, although there are some stuff you can't set up at all with gambits and to make battles more efficient you're required to play.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is in developent for an unannounced platform. Has been since last year. There's also another handheld version in the works, again for an unannounced platform. Not sure if that's changed or not since SE is reshuffling things.

Why haven't I heard any of this?  All I remember Nomura saying is that Dream Drop Distance would be the last game before Kingdom Hearts 3, so why would they be making a handheld version? 

It's just something I've heard, that's all. Take it with a grain of salt until SE makes an official announcement.
