I honestly can't fathom how anyone could like Square Enix anymore, to be honest. In fact, ever since the merger, I haven't liked the company. they've had a few gems here and there, Final Fantasy XII was really good despite some community issues with it, and some of their PSP and DS games were outstanding, but as for full games, they've really dropped the ball in every concievable way.

They released Final fantasy XIII, which was basically a JRPG on Rails with a shoddy, partially luck based, overly simplified but cool to look at battle type, with a story you had to literally read an encyclopedia to understand.

They Released Final Fantasy XIII-2, despite nobody caring or asking for it. It was better, but still a long ways from their greatness.

They are releasing Final Fantasy X HD, which I personally love, but an overwhelming majority of gamers would prefer VII, and a vocal group loathes X.

They released Final Fantasy XIV, which is on record as one of, if not THE worst MMO of all time, and instead of cutting their losses and accepting the turd, they took a large majority of their staff off other projects to fix it, despite the fact that the time for profitability has passed, and anyone could tell them that.

They're NOT releasing Final Fantasy Type-0 In the west, which is stupid since it's apparently the only GOOD Final Fantasy XIII game to date (it used to be branded XIII Agito).

They're NOT releasing Final Fantasy vsXIII despite an outcry from fans and a *counts* 7+ year development cycle.

They're NOT releasing Kingdom Hearts 3, and in fact haven't even confirmed the game exists, and are instead only putting the series on handhelds (where 3D and BBS were good, admittedly).

They're planning on releasing ANOTHER Final Fantasy XIII title in Lightning Returns, despite the fact that, once again, nobody was asking for it and sales indicate that people don't give half a diamond encrusted shit.

And after all that bullshit, they had the gall to come out at Sony's PS4 unveiling and say "We have huge news! Stay tuned at E3 to hear more!" Fuck you square-enix. fuck you.

Oh, and Final Fantasy: All the Bravest, a shitty, no-gameplay iOS game that relies entirely on luck and punishes you for failures beyond your control by wasting either time or money. you can either wait disgusting amounts of time to revive or pay money.

Again, I repeat, fuck Square Enix. Seriously. In their collective asses.

Eidos? Great stuff, you guys have been brisk, you've been expedient, you've done great things with what you have, and you've sold well.

Handheld games? Mostly good. the Dissidia games and Theatrythm are some of the best 'fanservice' games I've ever played. The World ends with You is a special, unique, interesting game. The DS and PSP versions of their old classics are examples of how to rerelease a game. They clearly have talent, but ever since that damn merger, the company has completely lost touch with its audiences. It actively seems like they're doing everything to make s ure we get shit we clearly don't care about (FFXIII and its sequels, as well as XIV and Dragon Quest X), while finding a way to NOT give us what we WANT (Type 0, KH3, vsXIII, Bravely Default).

I've never in my life seen a company with such utter and decisive contempt for their customers.

If I didn't absolutely love final Fantasy as a whole, I'd have long since given up on them.

This guy always cracks me up with his blind "3DS love". It seems that his grasp with reallity is slipping more and more with each passing day.

IMO SE without Eidos acquisition, wouldn't have had any good home console games this generation. Their portable games on other hand seem to be quite decent.

But how are you suppose to purchase full 3D 60 fps (standard for 3D since 1930's) Movies to watch on the go, like the Top 68 3D Movies of 2013 LOL:

Plus Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles & Bravely Default & Kingdom Hearts 3D & many others are good games.

I agree about Square-Enix being crap before recently with all their other games likes FF 11 & 13.

And as you have said so yourself that they do a good job on their portables, which the 3DS is.

I didn't like the Wii & PS3 & PSP, and the DS was good but not great.

I love the PS2 and to a lesser extent the GameCube and to a lesser extent the GBA.

And the 3DS just seems like its gonna be the best gaming system of the 8th Gen. But if you think that the PS4 or Wii U or 720 or PS Vita will do better then the 3DS then that's your opinion. I just have more faith in the 3DS & 3D Movies then other gaming consoles & 2D Movies.

If someone had told me years ago that my favorite game from SE would be one that they didnt even make, from their aquired western devs (JC2, Eidos) and my 2nd fav being a damn handheld DS game. I would have laughed in that person's face. but here we are. Eidos is doing the only thing worth a damn on consoles and the portable games have been pretty good.

they have alot of potential with some great assets but just simply don't know how to listen, therefore use their assets which is frustrating.

That makes 2 of us. But The Crystal Bearers was good too.

If someone had told me back in 2005 that I wouldn't like the PSP and that I wouldn't like the next Home Consoles from Nintendo & PlayStation (Wii & PS3) and that I would like Nintendo Handhelds the most for the next 2 Gens (7th & 8th Gen), then I would have laugh at their face and say that; that will never happen.

Interesting thats when i started to realize something was wrong, it started with Crystal Bearers it looked so good but turned out so MEH, thats just my opinion, i cant think of anything being good coming from their japan studios on the consoles the entire gen. 

Square Enix used to be that undergod company that got big, and continuously produced quality games. Now they rely too much on brand names, and are struggling to produce quality products. They aren't that golden company they once used to be, but they still make a good game now and then.
