The fact is that vita has some exclusive content (Gravity Rush, Soul Sacrifice etc, Tearaway) which is defintely worth playing and in Japan in particular there is more coming (GR2, Phantasy Star), but for many people the price of entry of a vita is too high to justify for just those games. However, Vita TV lowers that barrier considerably and should get more people in playing those games and increasing the install base which increases the likelihood of VIta getting more exclusives from third parties in the future, hopefully creating a virtuous cycle of progressive increasing sales. Add to that the other reasons why you might want one (say you have 1 PS4 but want to use it in another room, you can reasonably cheaply buy a Vita TV to do this) and I think you have a formula for modest success which won't suddenly cause a vita craze, but which will improve the vita's prospects. The key is price - Vita TV is a much more viable impulse purchase than the existing handheld model
