I remember a post mentioning how there are two types of gamers who preorder and don’t preorder, respectively, in Japan. I wonder how much casual gamers in Japan preorder?

i don’t think the games will bomb like some predict. It may not sell as well as other Pokémon main line games, but if it can bring in Go players and convert them to Let’s Go and, eventually, the other main games, the I think it would do its job. There are over 100 million players of Go and it’s still doing really well, both in active content and revenue. If Let’s Go can get even 3-5% of that base, that would be pretty good.

Based on the 3DS and Wii U versions of Smash 4 combining for a final total of 1317 points and where Smash Ultimate is at now. It would need to average around 8.7 points a day for the next 139 days to match it.

Octopath Traveler had 115 COMG points the week it was released. Its weekly sales were about 110k. How is that an example of anything other than a standard 1:1000 correlation? Octopath is an example of how COMG can still be quite accurate as long as you look at the release week total points.

It didnt have 115 pre-orders though where the comparison used to have any bearing. That it had 115 comg points in sales is just a coincidence. the 1:1000 correlation hasnt been true for a long time and especially for Switch games.
