Aaand there it is.
I'll say 2 million in Japan for World.
Obviously nowhere near the numbers it would do on a handheld, (4 sold over 4 million in Japan on 3DS, http://www.capcom.co.jp/ir/english/finance/million.html) but still good given the circumstances.

But if Capcom is expecting this game to do similar numbers everywhere else to make it the best selling Monster Hunter, then they better start pushing this game hard. VERY hard. Like... NOW.

Edit: Have preorders opened in the States, yet?

I think it has a good chance to do fine.  The Xbone and PC versions are likely DoA just cause the series has no historic presence there and Japanese games sell markedly worse on Xbox One.  But I think Tri levels is the likely cap, unless things shift drastically either in Japan or in the West.  That can happen of course, has with other franchises.  But as the market exists now, Monster Hunter World is a considerable risk.  

And I have no doubt a MonHun of actual qiality will come to Switch, Capcom can't afford to leave that money on the table.

I'd happily debate it with you but someone who describes a perfectly normal post of mine as a random outburst doesn't deserve my time. 

 

Anyway OT: amazon Japan has the MH pre orders open and it's a joy to behold. Especially seeing the ps4 pro well represented.  It's going to move quite a few units come December. Will greatly help with it's quest for 2m this year!

I wasn't trying to be rude, I just found your post odd because the first sentence implied a response to someone bringing up the Switch but you neither quoted someone nor did I see anyone above bring it up.  That's why I found it random.

Not much to debate though,  my observations are pretty straight forward
