Which is why these numbers are dissapointing. They are symptomatic of a (substantial) decline for the franchise.

Your judgement is completely irrelevant. This is about estimating the sales of MHXX on Switch, not about whether sales will be satisfactory according to someone on the internet, be it me or you. At least we have established that MH is on a decline. So, with the added "success" of the Switch, how do many units you expect MHXX to sell? |
If you want to go that route, what numbers any of us predict are completely irrelevant. The only thing that is important is the sales that we get reported on Media Create after MXX has released. No point in thinking about it before then, right?
I mean, it's not like the number I predict will change the outcome either way, so why bother
Too little, too late Monster Hunter.

It's doing quite a bit better on Amazon Japan (along with New everybody's Golf on the PS4), so I expect at least a decent ratio
Speaking of Amazon Japan, Splatoon (the Wii U one) has reentered the Top 50 there after lingering around in the lower spots for the last 4 weeks. Truly this game has some amazing legs in Japan

Indeed it does. And I expect Splatoon 2's legs to pick up when the stock situation in Japan is sorted out... that's a very big "when" I know. But still.

Even though VGC copies Media Create's numbers for Japanese sales, Media Create is also capable of being off. Capcom's official figures tell a different story. Yes, MH is faultering somewhat, but no where near how bad it looks on VGC. ...Except for MHXX Switch, that's just plain bad. |
Well yes, shipped + digital will always be higher than what MC or Famitsu report. :-/
Ark keeps moving. Hopefully it has a very good ratio.
GO Monster Hunter! Still Have time! :D :D
The chart has become so sad to look at yet I keep coming to see it
