800k minimum? O.o Im the optimistic guy here bro :p..I can see 1mil if switch is over 1.4mil by release. Hard to tell atm. All i know is if it does that big of an op first week with an install base of under 2mil we are looking at the king of japan.

Completely ridiculous. Animal Crossing sold 640k first week in 2012, 18 months after the 3DS launched when its install base was an order of magnitude greater than the Switch's will be this July. Now it's the best-selling game of the generation in Japan.

How many games sell 800k first week and why is it assumed that Splatoon has to be one of those games?

Because Splatoon is the current craziness thing in Japan. I'm a witness of this situation.

I'm not being as bold as you, as I don't know if Nintendo can. If they could, I would have went with a million prediction myself, but I just don't believe they can keep up with demand.

Current craziness or not, can you show me a game that launched with 600k or more sales within six months of its platform's launch OR a game having a 50% attach rate at launch more than 4 months after its platform's launch?

Monster Hunter didn't hit 600k with a December 2011 launch. Monster Hunter! Mario Kart (!) didn't even hit 300k last month.

You may as well say Splatoon 2 will sell 2 million first week if all the justification you can offer is that it's the new hotness in Japan. 800k doesn't even seem within the bounds of reality to me, and you're laying it down as the minimum.
