Well not be close but i can see west being like 50% of those sales from Awakening/FATES compared to japan (like 20% if that)

I hope :/

Also it could see a considerable spike in sales in Golden week as usual with Nintendo game, it's beneficial that it's being released close to that week.

For some reason I feel optimistic that we will be pleasantly surprised! Low pre-orders doesn't always mean equally low sales! Xenoblade Chronicles for New 3ds end it up with 27p but sold 80k in its first week... Some games of wiiu haven't appeared in the charts at all but have sold 50k-70k FW!

What you really expect for FW sales? Also what was the pre-orders sales ratio of the last two FE installments? Even though the comparison isn't fair for obvious reasons!

You could be right, here is hoping for 100k fw!

perhaps, i wonder if globally it will hit 1 million.

Unfortunately, I doubt it. North America should hit 500K, so that's good. Looking at COMG though, I'm expecting about 150K in Japan, which is a pretty massive drop from over 500K. Europe was the only region to see a significant drop between Awakening and Fates (from 500K to 300K), so I'd expect Echoes to see another drop to, at best, 200K. With the rest of the world, I can only see 900K in total. I hope I'm wrong though, 1 million is still very possible :)

Shouldnt be compared to that of awakening/fates as this game is

-A remake

-Not Waifu Emblem aka new fire emblem

-Black Sheep of the franchise lol

But seriously for japan its more comparable to FE11 +FE12 (remakes of 1+3)

If it does 500k/200k/150k (NoA/Euro/Jap) and a little more rest of the world, that would be good. Especially since the remake outsells almost every main FE game from FE6

Hmm... I see what you're saying but the problem is that, outside of Japan, this basically isn't a remake. The original never saw release in the west, and so should be treated as a new entry, meaning a comparison with Awakening/Fates is fair. Even in Japan though, the game was a very late release on the Famicom, so how much could it really have sold? I doubt very much: so for the majority of the Japanese this is a new game too. With all this in mind, I think if it doesn't hit at least 1 million it's an under-performance.

Its essentially a new game in the west, ill give you that. Only thing is one of the major reasons for FE huge success starting from awakening is waifu emblem. So the huge majority that make up for its sales especially in japan wont cover for this game. I think the game will still do well and much better in the west though.

And cant really say a game underperformed if it doesnt do 1mil. Giving the fact that we dont kno nintendos expectations and another thing is the game probably doesnt cost as much (reused assets/etc)

Gamr could be profitable at 400k for ex. I think ot was said zelda breaks even at 2mil, so i doubt even 500k is bad (im guessing here lol)

Go Mario Kart! It'll probably have the same effect That the original had on Wii U.

I agree with your reasoning behind the decline in Japan, but whatever reason it may have, a decline is still a decline, and that's bad news.

As for my point about '1 million or it's and under-performance' I'm not saying that it needs 1 million to be profitable because, as you say, 500K should do it on that front. I'm saying it's an under-performance in that it is a decline for the series into a sales territory where, if the next few games follow with similar sales, it could mean trouble for the series.

We have alot of agreements but i think we will have to agree to disagree on the front of a decline (for this game).

FE16 (switch game) will be telling us the answers we need to know :)

People are overestimating how much it took to make FE Echoes, the game is using many assets from Awakening/Fates, the plot and characters are already there (while they have to be polished obviously) since this is a remake, I think it'd be strange if the game needed more than 200k sold to break even...
