Persona just keeps on chugging.  Remember people thought they were crazy releasing close to FF15? A great title like persona has nothing to fear! #BEAST

By the way, have you ever said anything about the FF15 trouble here? I remember you, posting many sorrowful comments about YW trouble... Don't you care or worry?

Its flopping too much or this frog to handle. Well glad he was more interested on Yokai Watch than Final Fantasy.

It seems that Nomura by beeing kicked out of his role for FFVersus, he basically dodged a very serious bullet. FF15 comg preorders suggest the danger of becoming the worst FF mainline result in Japan in the last 25 years.

Square Enix itself showed concern on releasing FF XV too close to P5.
Even as FF XV is clearly the biggest one between the both, P5 has been setting itself to a big boost in the series popularity.

Though I did fear P5 could take a blow coming so close to FF XV. Gladly it's going strong.

I guess for Japan they'd ideally like a later date but WW is where FF15 will do the most work so they had to go with the west.

But as you say,  I'm delighted to see Persona 5 beast.

Yakuza 6 still #1 on amazon Japan and ps4 beasting at #5 (maybe they overcame the slight stock issues)

Tomb raider 20th anniversary out in October. Be interesting to see its Japanese performance.

Ratchet and clank out in around 10 days. Another interesting watch.

2016 has an awesome Playstation games line up.

Well FFXV also stayed there for a while. So far nothing came out of that :p

But yeah the lineup is great, hope the system keeps pushing starting with the Berseria release.

@Viktor

Well FF has no place for growth atm. in Japan. And with how this game is presented ... yeah WW will probably easily outdo Japan sales. China for example could put away some slack from Japan, as cross projects get more popular over there (like MovieXGame, GameXGame ... multimedia projects is what I mean) and so far XV had solid showings in that country. Overall it seems like SE is lacking in promoting XV properly in Japan, hell Tabata was surprised at how many tickets Kingsglaive sold in Japan (and it wasn`t even an impressive number) - that shows SE is not expecting huge things from the japanese market, atleast for this game.

Nothing came of it on comg you mean cus FF15 ain't out yet.

Different expectations for the likes of ratchet and tomb raider but they're part of the army of smaller more moderate yet high quality titles that make Playstation's line up the best in the japanese console business.

Oh yeah I meant on COMG, for all we know any game could be misrepresented on the COMG list. See Falcom games.

Glad? Not surprised?

He was more concerned than us, who we're Nintendo fans...

To be fair, FF15 for the moment is in  a better position since YW had less points than it in the same time frame, howbeit FF games are extremely front-loaded, the overwhelming majority of their LT sales are on their first week!

Hence,  would expect the frog to fret about the game perfomance at comg, especially for a game he loves, and  is on his favorite platform...

Are they even advertising this game?

FF15 definitely under performing but there are factors which may make comg show it to be worse than it is.

1: closed stores,  so naturally less pre orders

2: higher digital sales.  So more people pre order on psn instead

3: big SE promotions with limited editions sold from their own website

4: the general better ratio ps4 games get now.

With these factors for example,  instead of an expect 400k opening it could end up with 600/700k+ including digital.

Not guaranteed but it's possible.
