God Eater won't be on MC top 20. Comg isn't big enough to make a change on the overall japanese market.

Builders taking over amazon. Top 6 all builders and 7 of the top 8.

Actually looking at that top 50 Sony is doing a lot of business in Japan atm.

Setsuna is an indie title from a big publisher, but I'm kinda surprised that Attack on Titan going to bomb this hard. Were people scared by the earlier bad AoT games? Series fatigue?

I really dunno.  The anime isn't airing at the moment (that I know of) but I thought this thing was super-popular anyway so I don't see why that would hold it back.

I suggested that the previous games being of poor quality may hold this one back on GAF (lol) but got met with a barrage of "different developer different platforms" etc. so they thought that wasn't the reason either.

*shrug*.  Incidentally I just started watching the anime yesterday.

Who cares? The type of people that the game is aimed at are hardcore fans. I'd be more surprised if they didn't have both systems. Different developers may hold some water, but I'm very skeptical of this game because of the quality of the first.

What is happening with Builders and Amazon?

Even the PS3 version is charting.

Must be the effect of the demo. I also got swept by the hype and felt like buying it myself.

No kidding. I am seriously thinking of pre-ordering the PS3 version and then double dip the PS4/PSVITA when/if it gets localized. I really want a Dragon Quest game for my PS3 collection, the only thing that stops me is the language and how it will affect my  progression because supposedly the main story takes around 60 hours to beat.

I see. I am quite fortunate as I have been studying japanese myself. This game has rather beginner to medium level of japanese so it's not so much of a problem for me. To think that it wasn't even on my buy list a few days ago.

Yep you are quite fortunate. I too have been thinking of starting to learn japanese only to play some games that will never get localized (and of course because i like the language and the culture). Since you are studying japanese can i ask you a question? If i study the language around 3 hours every day, how fluent will i be in 1 year? Could at least have a good idea of what's going on when i am reading/hearing something? Most people say to me that i am pretty good with foreign languages (i speak 3) but i think that it's a matter of personal studying.

Well, it does depend on the person. I started learning japanese in 2010, but that was just the basics hiragana and katakana. It wasn't until end of 2013 that I started trying to translate proper japanese games. It was only 2014 that I managed to mostly translate a game with kanjis.
I suppose with 1 year, you might be able to reach a somewhat intermediate level of fluency depending on you.

But with the tools available to us now, it is much more convenient to translate kanji compared to past. In 2013 i was using 2 devices to translate while looking at screenshots of dialogues in vita.

That said, I'm not so good at grammar and the kanjis themselves. I mostly memorise the kanji associated with the vocabulary. But so far it's worked fine for me.

Gosh I hope Hyrule legends will ahve good legs... I would like this to be 1 mil seller WW
