I would imagine whatever new pre-orders it'd get will be from increased consumer traffic during the weekend vs Direct.

That too. If anything, the boost would be from the weekend/demo, rather than the direct. The Direct boost is a 50/50 chance. If it happens, it happens, if not then don't worry about it.
