Forums - PC - Total War: Rome II Release Date, Pre-order Bonuses, and Collector's Edition Revealed

Sega is pulling back the curtain on all the things fans need to know for the next Total War entry from Creative Assembly.

Total War: Rome II will be released on September 3 worldwide. Fans who pre-order the game will get the first day-one DLC pack for free. The Greek States Culture Pack includes three new factions: Athens, Epirus, and Sparta, for use in both single- and multiplayer. All contain unique units, buildings, and traits. Check out the DLC trailer for a look at these factions in action.

Fans willing to drop some extra cash can reserve the collector's edition, which is limited to 22,000 copies. Take a look at all of the goodies below and read up on the details straight from Sega.

·Numbered copy of Total War: Rome II

o   The most ambitious and expansive game in the Total War series to date, Rome II brings the statecraft, politics, intrigue, diplomacy and epic battles of the ancient world to life in thrilling detail. This version comes in a debossed Steelbook case, laser-etched with your unique collector’s number in Roman numerals.

·Tabula set

o   The Roman forerunner to Backgammon, this Tabula set comprises 30 bone-effect game pieces supplied in their own burlap drawstring bag; the board itself is built into the base of the Collector’s Edition box.

·Tesserae Dice

o   Three replica bone-effect dice for use in a variety of games. The design is based on original Roman Tesserae, found at the archaeological site of Herculaneum.

 ·Total War Cards: Punic Wars

o   Designed from the ground up to echo elements from Rome II, Total War Cards is a game of skill and luck for two players. Involving combat, territorial control, resource management and technological development, Punic Wars consists of 58 high-quality playing cards and a game-board printed with the Punic Wars tech-tree.

·Canvas Campaign Map

o   A reminder of the world you must conquer, this ribbon-tied canvas map depicts each of the 57 provinces of the Rome II campaign.

·Roman Onager

o   A complete, fully-functional Onager, or Roman siege catapult. This easy-to-assemble kit is constructed from weathered wood and steel, measures 26cm x 12cm x 12cm, and is capable of unleashing small projectiles at a variety of inanimate objects which may have affronted the glory of your empire.

I am personally excited about this. I really wanted Sparta as a faction and now I can get it. Also the release date of Sept 3rd is better then I thought. I was a huge fan of the first game. This game is going to be awesome :).

earlier as i thought, nice!

steelbook looks also nice.

Awesome - I loved Rome Total War

Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.

Rome Total War is one of the best games ever. Here's hoping this one is just as good. I'll have to buy a brand new PC to play it though.

for  me it was shogun 2  (well that the minecraft server needed a better host and civ 5) had me back in the pc building gmae after years on not building ... and now i have  built 3 towers and a 24TB NAS in about 3 years .... might have gone overboard :P.... what is strange is the device that triggered it all still has not been replaced I had let desktops give way to a laptop before the build and the laptop that could not run shogun is still my primary laptop (the core duo cpu and ati X1600M 256mb just missing on being able to run it) i keep putting off on replacing it by waiting for another part... though i did replace the HDD with an SSD ich gave it a bit more pep last year

Out of the way, goty coming through.

Sucks that the main Greek city states are day 1 dlc. I tend to buy my cd keys without preorder bonuses.

YES! Wish it came out in early August though ;O

I expected October, so I am pleased with September. Although October or August would be best because of you know Octavian/Augustus :P.
