this wasn't worth a ban, unless he had an history of trolling the vita I don't think he deserved a ban for this because it's actually pretty close to reality

User was moderated means ban???

I know I'm new here, but ya.....that post doesn't seem ban worthy at all.

yes look at his profile, I guess he trolled Sony forums to much and pretty much anything would have made him get banned

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

That doesn't always mean ban, it could just be a warning. (In this case, it was a ban, though.)

MY GOD, you should be mass reported for the obvious trolling you're doing.

On topic, it's clear Sony isn't planning any price drops for the Vita in the west. They probably prefer lower sales rather than makes losses.

How is it trolling?

Can you name a mainstream console that sold less than the Vita? Do you really think Sony will do another one?

The Vita is not a mainstream console and not every console has sold like the PSX, PS2, DS right out of the gate. Sony will not abandon the foothold they have gotten in the handheld market. So yes, they will support the Vita and will release a succesor in a couple of years.

The Vita was planned to be every bit as mainstream as the 3DS is, it's just that sales have not produced.  Sony cannot afford to support anything that loses money anymore.  If the Vita sales don't pick up, I agree that this will probably be their last handheld.  However, things can turn around, so who knows.  However, the 3DS currently has 6 1/2 times the market share that the Vita has and most of the Vita titles are not selling well at all.

Stop hating and start playing.

I agree, how was his message trolling?  I own a Vita and agree with his message, other than I suppose that I would have said that it "might" be Sony's last handheld.

Sony needs that their line of XPERIA smartphones to be compatible with VITA games. So that the VITA platform has more userbase, and then, they promote it as the only smartphones to play "REAL" games.

OR they need to make the VITA compatible with google play apps, but not games :D

Well, except for the fact that this "DirtyP" dude comes to every thread that has "Vita" word on it and comes to say it is dead.

By the way, everyone saying Vita is dead don't own Soul Sacrifice / P4 Golden and are missing out BIG TIME. That's all I can say.

Yeah a system isn't DEAD until it either stops production or first/third party software is irrelevant.

The Vita is far from dead, and Sony wouldn't abandon it unless it bled more money than the early years of the PS3, which it obviously isn't (should be a hardware profit everywhere but MAYBE japan).

Can you provide further details for this? The only sales comments I've seen regarding Vita games have been satisfaction with sales with several indie developers singing their praises inc confirming superior sales to PS3 versions of the same game (Retro City Rampage, Strangers Wrath HD). Compile Heart's game outselling it's 3DS counterparts substantially. Ubi Soft being happy with over half a million Assassins Creed sales. FIFA 13 outselling the 3DS and Wii U versions etc.

You should keep your investors informed. But it is kinda of something you do not want to tell them. "Hey guys......we are only going to push out 5 million this time". "Oh! For the Vita?" "No, for the Vita and PSP together".

Telling them reserved sales projections for a handheld game system with a $249.00 price, and you do not think That if Sony cannot Lower the Price this year because of it , and would start eating into more Profit's.

Do you think its better to tell the investor's that right now and later increase sales project's, than not being able to make them the sales projections if they are way too high? I mean the Investors would want to know your sales projections for the new year. saying you expect lower sales is one thing but you and i both know Question's by investors are going to be asked why they are projectd low.

Sony is selling over 8 million xperia smartphones a sales Quarter, Sony also made the Playstation Mobile Platform. You do not think that maybe Sony is concentrating on making sure the projections are at least with in reason? Sony when first released info about the NGP or the PSVita the Price point was $299.00 and $249.00 many though that price was pretty fair, after which Nintendo reduced the price of the 3DS. once again do you think that did not have any effect on the perception of the PSVita? People than went on to say its too

"costly"

Tac on the perception of Sony as a whole in the market right now, and again do you think that also does not play a role in the viability of Sony in this market?

many time on many forums the Pessimism about Sony's viability in the handheld game system market is pretty much "dead" the vast majority of people posting in this thread are already calling the PSVita a dead platform. At this point Sony has been fighting a negative perception about not just playstation but their entire company as a whole.

The fact that Sony admits this is key signs they are looking to fix these problems. its going to take time and persistance to do so. So why not be upfront with your investors?

if you Admit the problems and not sugar coating it, at least the Investors are more likely to listen to your idea's about how to go about fixing the problems .

This is one of the few sensible post in this thread. And the one that make the most sense.
