Clear message to developers - don't make games for Vita.

Why not Give the Investor's the Heads up?

they may take A Hit to the stock, but Sony's been downgraded to Junk status already, further lowering will most likely happen until Sony start's cutting large chunks of their TV section off. As a Matter of fact the further reduction makes it easy for the people in charge to make the cuts they Need, because the stock value with keep getting down graded until someone who will makes those cuts do so.

that's why never take your company public in my opinion.

Telling them reserved sales projections for a handheld game system with a $249.00 price, and you do not think That if Sony cannot Lower the Price this year because of it , and would start eating into more Profit's.

Do you think its better to tell the investor's that right now and later increase sales project's, than not being able to make them the sales projections if they are way too high? I mean the Investors would want to know your sales projections for the new year. saying you expect lower sales is one thing but you and i both know Question's by investors are going to be asked why they are projectd low.

Sony is selling over 8 million xperia smartphones a sales Quarter, Sony also made the Playstation Mobile Platform. You do not think that maybe Sony is concentrating on making sure the projections are at least with in reason? Sony when first released info about the NGP or the PSVita the Price point was $299.00 and $249.00 many though that price was pretty fair, after which Nintendo reduced the price of the 3DS. once again do you think that did not have any effect on the perception of the PSVita? People than went on to say its too

Tac on the perception of Sony as a whole in the market right now, and again do you think that also does not play a role in the viability of Sony in this market?

many time on many forums the Pessimism about Sony's viability in the handheld game system market is pretty much "dead" the vast majority of people posting in this thread are already calling the PSVita a dead platform. At this point Sony has been fighting a negative perception about not just playstation but their entire company as a whole.

The fact that Sony admits this is key signs they are looking to fix these problems. its going to take time and persistance to do so. So why not be upfront with your investors?

if you Admit the problems and not sugar coating it, at least the Investors are more likely to listen to your idea's about how to go about fixing the problems .

Sony is putting low estimates only to blow them away after Vita price cut and say 'oh what a surprise we didn't expect this!".

The Fact they are keeping the shipments low may mean they really cannot lower the Price for the PSVita just yet. because it would eat into more of the already low profits they are making right now as it is. The Development of the PS4 and the recent statement shows Sony is not going to take Loss'es like they have been and they are going to make drastic cut's to those parts of the company dragging down the rest of the company. by showing Profit from every part of playstation as they can it shows investors that The leadership in charge see's the problem and is not ignoring it. with the TV section now showing over an 9 th year loss i doubt very much the Axe is not going to be held back over the section for TV's  I think Looking at making sure Playstation keeps showing profit is more important than increase of Market share at this point.

Either a realistic guess like this. Or overestimate and everyone calls them stupid for thinking that they can do that, including investors.

this wasn't worth a ban, unless he had an history of trolling the vita I don't think he deserved a ban for this because it's actually pretty close to reality

OT: Some of you need to look at this in a better light; it's still better than the Virtual Boy. It's also still better than a completely failed console like that one other companies attempt at a handheld. (That was my "Go happiness!" post for the day, people. (By the way, I'm being mostly serious, don't think I'm trying to troll Pokoko!))

It's pretty simple really

For one, negative news always draws more attention then positive news. People are just wired that way.

The other thing to consider is that the Vita is a pretty fresh device, so it's performance on the market (and the implications of said performance) is more interesting to most than that of a system which has been out for 7 or so years.
